this weekend was insaaaane!!
so friday was lisa's party which was really fun. getting dressed up and drunk and being with fun people is always nice. and damn did i eat some cake. it was sooo good.
saturday we got dressed up in our 80s outfits for the warehouse party. well, when we got there the place was being busted by the cops and they told us to come back in 30 minutes. unfortunately it never happened. but, all hope was not lost. we got on the subway to head back home with tons of drunken hipsters wanting to party. alex asks a guy whats in his case and it was a didgeridoo. then he starts playing it and another guy starts beat boxing and another guy starts filming with his fancy fish eye camera and the whole subway car is dancing and going crazy! then this crazy kid and his crew ask us if we want to go with them to a club and we say yeah but he doesn't realize we are not at least 21. luckily his friend gets us all in and we get to dance and drink all night for free to fucking amazing music. and of course we got some late night pizza. yummm.
sunday i dragged my butt out to church! i was very proud of myself. easter was so pretty out here with people walking all down the streets all dressed in pretty outfits.
yesterday jamie was like, 'let's go to this vegetarian cooking class and get free food for dinner.' so i was like, 'sure sounds good.' well, turns out it was put on by the krishna bhakti club and we had to sit for a while and listen to a guy preech on why jews promote vegetarianism. well, we were expecting to only receive some fried vegetables but turns out, they served us an entire meal. and oh man, it was seriously the best free dinner i have ever, ever, had. so that night we feel like fat asses and decide to walk the brooklyn bridge. well, we ended up walking the manhattan which was really creepy because the path was small and narrow and dark and to make it even worse there was this lady on the bridge that scared us to death. she was walking towards us and when she got closer, she smiled very weirdly at us and then TURNED AROUND TO FOLLOW US. next thing you know, she is running, and jamie and i are sprinting for our lives. we decide to stop and hope to god that she passes us and thankfully she does, but not without giving us another does of creepy smiles. note: never walk the manhattan bridge at night. ever.
and just now there was a fire at the old korean deli on fifth ave that was abruptly shut down about a month ago. it was pretty big. smoke eeeverywhere and tons of kids from my building. i took pictures. we believe the fire was for insurance money. firemen are so so so hot.
22 more days until i go home. i am definitely not ready to leave this crazy city. i wish i could stay here a bit longer but i'm so excited to see friends from home and eat REAL MEXICAN FOOD.
