History is a pain, haha... I do pretty well in it considering how much I dislike it, but I still prefer not to if I don't have to. Studio classes sound awesome though, and there's such a variety as well! Which is your favourite field?

But eh, you still have to take core curric? I'm assuming you're in uni or something similar (maybe be I'm wrong, haha), but here in Australia we don't have stuff like that, we only do subjects related to our major, unless they're electives, in which case we have more choice. I wouldn't be against doing that though, I've forgotten all my math equations already. XD

Music's a lot of fun, quite enjoyable, but it can get really personal sometimes when it comes to performing/composing. For the first two years, we're required to take a aural+theory classe, a history class and our performance subject (which is basically lessons and perfomances, etc) along with an elective of our choice. From 3rd year onwards, we choose our major (performance stream, composition stream, musicology stream, or a combination) if we get the marks required, and specialise from then on. The general issue is bias and opinion based marking, but it's like that no matter what art field you into, I guess.

Omg tell me about it. Like you said I get A's and B's in my history courses, but i just hate history xDD. Mm they are very fun, my favorite is illustration cause I like working with my hands and i like drawings more than anything. So when I graduate I would love to be an illustrator ^^

Ohhh really and sweet you're from Australia <3. But yeah im in a general college thats more well known for its bio and engineering buildings. But yeah if i went to an Art school i'd only have to worry about art haha [maybe a few other elective like courses]

speaking of which, we also had to have 7 electives xDD luckily i think they had to be art for me @_@

Oh wow, so basically you're just learning about and composing your own songs? That's really cool ahaha. Have you tried to play any Arashi xDD? But yeah lots of things are opinion based which makes things complicated when you try to take it into consideration while working -__-

Illustrations are great, I miss seeing hand drawn ones, a lot of them are computer graphics these days. You can tell I was one of those kids who borrowed books for the pictures and not the reading, haha.

Yeah, Australia's a great place, come visit if you ever get the chance! :D Where abouts in the world are you from?

Ah, I see. Our music faculty is a really small part of the university, no one outside of our building even knows you can do music degree at our uni! XD But electives are great, right? It's nice to have a break from the constant once in a while. I enrolled myself into a dual degree so instead of choosing random electives, I do Japanese and Spanish to go towards the language side of my degree so it's like I have two degrees! But it tacks on an extra 1.5years... I think I'm gonna be studying forever! D: not that I'm complaining

Yeah, I'm a composition major, so in my case I'd be writing songs and stuff. Except I don't really get 'taught', it's more "write something, bring it to the lesson and we'll work on improving it"? And YES, OF COURSE I HAVE!! :D I'm doing some transcribing for communites, like JE_ultrastar and doing up some sheet music for another Arashi music comm, it's one of the best things about being a musician. <3

And you can say that again. ==; Trying to fufill the criteria while trying to do it your way is impossibly hard to strike a balance with. I'm having so much trouble, haha.

ahaha yeah which sucks cause all my teachers keep saying is "Everything is digital" and it's like i dont wanna xDD

I definitely wanted to but people keep telling me about the large spiders TT^TT [i dont want to generalize Australia like that but grr at those people] I'm from the US [particularly from New York]

Ooh wow haha. And I would do a double major, but ugh i am so done with school haha i just want my BA and leave @_@. But sweet, you're taking Spanish and Japanese? I'm only taking French as my foreign language [since my parents can speak it and i took 3 yrs in high school...aka i wanted an easy A >.>]

OOOO so cool haha. I always have a small jealousy for musicians. Like i have a guitar but i cant just make any compositions from it...nor can i play it really but yeah i find that to be really cool how you can think up something, see it/hear it, and just write it down haha. My music teacher in high school was like that. I'd be like "while reading those notes can you hear the music in your head?" and he'd be like "...yeah..." xDD

Well i'd def like to hear a piece from you ^^

haha same here, lots of trial and error happening over here xD

If you go out into the bush for a while, you might expect to see some snakes and spiders, but generally you don't find many at home or anything. We get a few every year, but no biggie. :) If anything, there are a lot of kangaroos roaming in unbuilt areas near our suburb and on the golf courses. XD On this part of the Gold Coast, anyway, haha.

In general, I know close to nothing about New York except that it's the big place for the arts, and Ohno loves it there. XD

I don't mind uni so much during first semester, but second semester is always such a drag because of the stupid way they organise it - 10 weeks of lectures, 1 week break, another 3 weeks of lectures then exam block. It makes it all feel very rushed. D: But wow, you can speak French? :D It sounds really difficult, but I think it'd be very useful! (And who doesn't like getting easy A's? XD)

You'd might be surprised, but there are a lot of musicians who can't hear the music clearly while looking at the notes depending on how difficult it is! Most can get the general gist of it with a few pitching errors, but when it comes down to writing what you hear, that's even worse. XD We had musicianship classes like that, it really showed you what you were capable of.

I'm notoriously bad at slacking off on composing, so I don't really have anything to show you even if my end of year portfolio is due in 3 weeks... XD If you ever post anything of your artwork up, I'd be interested, people can create such amazing things. *______* Sketching is the only thing I'm decent at when it comes to drawing, so I'm sure your art will be something to look forward to. :D

ahaha i would still love to visit Australia one day, so i will keep it in my places to run off to list xD

LOL xD, yeah there's a lot of museums and art related stuff going on over here. Even on the street there are a bunch of street artists @_@

Yeah usually the 1st semester is kinda blah but for some reason this year i just couldnt handle this 1st semester haha. Well not really speak it...like if i was thrown into France, I'd speak very slowly and/or have grammatical errors xDD. [LOL tell me about it hehe]

Oh wow really? Haha.

haha mm, i plan to try and post up my art somewhere, i gotta or else i wont ever have a portfolio @_@. But I'd very much still like to hear you play~ <3

Please do, the people here are very friendly and laid back! :D

My mum wants to go to America one day, so maybe I'll be able to walk through the streets of New York and see what's if like with my own eyes, haha. Sounds like entertainment paradise!

haha, but that's like anyone learning a foreign language, you're bound to makes mistakes and have trouble at first! My teacher and I were just discussing languages today, and he said correct Indian prononciation is just impossible to grasp. XD

If you ever do, please let me know, I'd like to see! :D Do you mind if I friend you?
I don't even have a youtube account, but my friend and I are going to do some collaboration projects in the summer holidays, so hopefully we'll get something polished up and done then!

My sister does German, it doesn't look too bad...? I don't like how they compound words to make massive ones, it makes it hard to read! But cool language (if ony I can get the throaty 'ch' sound right, same with spanish). Speaking of which, can you roll your 'r's? I can't really do it. ;A; *fail*

Thanks, I added you back. \:D/ I'll be sure to pester you occasionally about your art, haha. Good luck with your foilio!
