Stella, 17 years old, beautiful and blonde, lives with her mother, Antoinette, on the Côte d’Azur. Stella is a dancer in nightclub, Antoinette a chambermaid in a luxury hotel. One works at night, the other during the day, but this doesn’t affect their bond. Together they observe a world where people throw their money around and have fun. It’s like looking at a world on television with which they constantly mix but never touch. Then Romansky, a real estate agent sent to the Côte, arrives on the scene. Something unlikely then happens: an encounter between a girl who’s too beautiful and this lonely man, perhaps the beginning of a love story.

Louise, 36, is a charming young woman who is disconcertingly open and rather awkward. She’s a beautician and lives in Le Mans. Martine, 38, is her older sister. She’s a very beautiful, elegant woman, although aloof. She lives a deeply middle-class world in Paris. Louise has written a novel and she has an important meeting in Paris that could change the course of her life. She comes to stay with Martine for three days, during which time she and her obvious happiness drive Martine up the wall and shatters her life.
