Odd SciFi story idea

As we currently understand things, human brain development in children depends on genetics and experience (nature and nurture). As we reach adulthood, most of the uniqueness that is us has been fixed in place. Since each of us is thereby unique, thought reading or transmission isn't feasible via direct stimulus (since we have unique mappings of the more complex concepts), except for the most broad emotions, like rage or calm, hunger or contentment,...

So what if groups of newborn children were fitted with interconnected fEITER devices then given simultaneous stimulus as a group during their rearing. Would their brain development be influenced to the extent they would acquire this common, shared response input as a medium for direct mind to mind communications through the devices? Only those in the same group would be 'mapped' to the same patterns, so it might be possible for them.

I suppose this advanced communications ability would be of value in teams tasked with exploring new worlds, combat teams (ick) or even science research. Cyber linked creche-mates could be just tools or the new elite. Lots of possibilities.
