So,
the ACoE says they won't open the Morganza spillways until the Mississippi flowrate hits 1.5 million cubic feet per second at the Red River Landing.
And yet they say the
Bonnet Carre Spillway can keep the flow rate at New Orleans to 1.5mcfps and opening the Morganza won't be needed.
It's not clear to me how these two claims are both valid. In any event, it's already over 2.0mcfps at Natchez and predicted to be much more than 2.1mcfps, sometime on Monday the 16th. -
If I lived anyplace between Morganza and Morgan City, I'd be packing up and headed for high ground.
