I do things to make myself miserable because I am happiest when I hate myself. I would like to induce a possible explantation to that. The world pushes us with this whole concept that our goal in life above all should be to be happy. Which to some extent is true. However, what the fuck do we do when we find happiness? This was a very insightful look into your real thoughts; I am highly impressed.

That being said, I 100% agree with you, though ironically enough I may be the target of this thesis/opinion/rant. Coming from MY point of view, I generally like a person who is more or less happy all the time. I feel I benefit from their happiness, and it usually brightens up my day (a.k.a. "mood change").

However, you make a vital point: without sadness and disappointment, happiness would get boring and tiresome. That is why most people figure life is a "roller coaster"; and it really is, too. It's a series of ups and downs that leave you pondering "Why did this just happen?" Something horrible could occur in the near future, but that would only lead to better hopes and better days later on.

You just gotta look at things from a retrospect point of view. I feel some sympathy for people who tend to ALWAYS be emo and sad, because their lives could just BE like that, simply put. But, they don't always need to exhibit that behavior, and they definitely could do something to make it better. Appreciate things for their sole meaning. Life isn't ALL bad.
