The owl did have some head trauma and will be treated for that, as well as hydrated tonight at the wildlife rehabilitation center. I received an ID# and can call back in a few days to see how she's doing and possibly join them if she is rehabilitated enough to be released. They won't be sure about potential internal injuries until they do an exam.

In some respects the dehydration may have helped reduce the brain swelling. They give head injury patients a diuretic.

I hope there weren't other injuries and that the brain swelling goes down. That may improve the owl's condition considerably.

I'm so glad I got the chance to see her!
