This morning came home as usual and took the dogs outside (after a re-kennel when they both broke without my telling them and lazy go back).

I let them run a bit, go potty then settled to work with Shila. Ri was just being too much of a dick really and when Shi's on the deck, he almost always leaves her alone. So I had Shi sit, which she did every time I asked, and waited for her to look at me before treating, which, again, she did every time. Times she sat and looked away, when I said her name she 50% looked back to me; the other 50% of the time it took a little more coaxing for her to look back.

Aside from those few glitches, she was perfect!

Ended the session with a good rub down pat/hug session and let her go. She eventually wandered off and I was watching her and, I decided to try something.

I called her to me.

She came RIGHT away; ears back and tail wagging!

SO, so happy!

Ri of course got jealous when she got treated so to show it he was pulling at her ruff, trying to get her to play or go away from me. She had none of it and after trying twice to get Ri's attention, I gave up on him and actually focused on Shi.

She was THAT into me she IGNORED him no matter what he did, struggled to get away from him when he grabbed her ruff and everything, just to come to me when I called.

:D

I didn't do much of this since Ri was being an ass and I ended it with a big hug and rub and everything for her! So, so proud of her!

And Ri, well, so he didn't feel left out I worked him a little too in recalls, which he did every time.

Then I brought them inside, fed them their chicken legs and now Shi's laying down while Ri's playing with the bone in his kennel.

I picked out a couple of things I did wrong though so going to work on improving my timing just a little more, but that'll come with practice too I think.

I am just so...

YAY!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, JU for the critique/help; it's already doing amazing things with Shi, and me! *big hugs* <3<3

ETA: This afternoon I took the dogs for a walk, a 2.9K walk to be exact, the longest walk I've ever done with them. Orion was still a little bit all over, but he did much better, considering that the road we were on was new to us and really close to the highway (as in we see them, they see us kind'a thing). Shila was absolutely amazing, focused on going forward and nothing else. She did stray twice or three times, but came quickly back to focus after a warning of "Shi" from me. I really wish I had a leader to train her, I think she might be a wicked little leader girl. Even when Ri comes back and practically body slams her a little, she just shrugs it off and keeps going. She did want to run, but not only was it too visible to other people for my comfort, the road we walked is hilly, and I had a headache that would not have tolerated a run. I do plan to use this road for my scootering as well once I get one.

All in all, today was a great day; best I've had in a while.
