Change and Hope on Drug Policy? Progress yes- but let's go further.
Ending prohibition would free up the prison system, the judicial system, and be a dramatic stroke towards leaving the police surveilance state we're living in. Let's end the war on addicts and non-violent offenders, and shut down the black market with the power of the free market. Alcohol and tobacco aren't prevalent on the black market, because adults have free market access. The argument that kids would start using more carries no weight. Kids already have access to hard drugs through the black market, it's been proven again and again. And think how much money we could generate on "sin" taxes for drugs deemed safe enough to sell otc (those which are at least as safe as alcohol and tobbacco?)

Summertime in all the world,
Israel's kicking ass again,
Watching the situation close people,
I'm a political man,
Everybody's got their solution,
but the best thing I've heard yet,
Is to legalize marijuana, and pay off the national debt
Ain't no one knows it better,
than I ??? of mind
Since it just another ???
??? got out of hand
Show some sense of liberty,
the markets already set
Legalize marijuana and pay off the national debt
Say homegrown ain't so bad
as smuggler's ???
buying them reefers down at the grocery store
that would have to be number 1
I wouldn't mind paying a small tithe
on the lumbo? that I get
Legalize marijuana, and pay off the national debt
Back in the book of Genesis
the law was laid down
there God gave man control
of all the herbs in town -??
but a higher authority
flies in a government jet
Ain't got no inclination toward's legalization don't acknowledge no national debt
Legalize marijuana, and pay off the national debt
Lennon bit the bullet,
Aw someone shot the pope,
someone even shot Ronald Reagan- but he fucked up the job
sometimes ain't got no hope- come on people
Get your act together,
let's get all that we can get
Legalize marijuana and pay off the national debt!
