Well I'm feeling pretty good for 35 weeks. Not too much swelling, I'm more tired but I don't usually bottom out and crave a nap unless I eat a lot of carbs. Going to bed between 10-11 and getting up between 6-7 seems to be what my body wants me to do. It's very hard to stay up late and impossible to sleep in- I am fully awake by 7:30 even if I've been laying in bed trying to doze back off since 5:30. This may be an early rising baby!
My worst symptom is some reflux- not too bad, but several times I've woken up hacking up bile and it's hard to get the taste out of the back of my throat!
I finished watching the cbirth tape. This is a video of 10 different unassisted births, 9 different women in their homes giving birth. Home footage. My take on a few of these births has changed a bit. I felt uncomfortable with a few of them, not that there was anything wrong with what was going on, but the women were taking such a passive role, their husbands were like midwives. Yeah, they weren't checking their dilation necessarily, but it just seemed- I don't know- not what I want. 7 years ago I'm sure I would have been more than fine with all of them, my birth with Elisabeth is probably a lot like the one of the births I'm thinking of. But it's not where I am now.
Now I want a solo birth, with attendants. Ideally I think I want to wake up around 5 or 6 am in labor, labor on my own, do some yoga, make tea, make breakfast, wake dh up with coffee, have him take care of diapering and feeding kids while I take a shower, have things still slow and pleasant enough to have a sweet possibly sexual interlude with dh after breakfast (the kids can watch pbskids or a video or something!) and then have the baby around lunch time with all the kids and dh there, but me catching. They can bring me blankets and diapers and tea LOL. So yeah, I'd like a 6-8 hour labor, slow and easy, kthx!
Also feeling a bit better about my postpartum. Should baby come before Jan 2nd Olivia will stay. I'm not feeling any early vibes though, so I'm thinking that it will probably be at least Jan 10th. Dh talked to his mom a bit and she is planning on going to see some other kids after the New Year, his sister who had heart surgery is home and stable now. So he asked if she could go via our city and help out some after baby comes, and she said she thought that sounded like a great idea- so that is something to look forward to as well. Dorie is super helpful anytime but especially postpartum. Even if she comes before baby and leaves before baby, I know I'll be so much better prepared! Oh she just called, and it looks like it will be between the 14th and 16th that she'll come into town- perfect.
And I sent dh a link to a lot of different pregnancy pictures, thinking that maybe a picture or 10 would express more than all my words to him, saying I want some pictures- and he got it! So one day soon we are going to do some pictures.
Abinadi is really wanting my attention now, so I am going to go give it to him.
