House 7x03, Lie to Me 3x01

Oct 05, 2010 01:20

EEEEEE! How awesome is it to say that LIE TO ME has begun? We took a three week break between seasons. That's nice. Although having a 6-7 month break in between season two was a killer. The wait was worth it for the second half of the season, but I'd rather they run it normally and wait the three months for the next season to start.

Anyway, I have Castle downloaded and it's actually airing live right now where I'm at but the tv I'm using doesn't get the channel that Castle is on and fiddling with the antenna is not worth the frustration and missing half the show because of it. No worries, though. I have it downloaded and will watch it probably after I write this and will have flaily comments by tomorrow at the earliest. Besides, sticking all three shows in this post might exceed lj limits. ;)

My dad invited me to watch it with him on his tv since he's got DirectTV and all that. So I watched it with him. No promises on putting Castle in this post though. We'll see how drained I am by the time I finish LTM. But I do promise of having a Castle post up eventually if it doesn't happen in here.

I must say, even if there were no Alias references in House tonight, it was an Alias guest star night! We had Amy Irving (Emily Sloane) as the POTW in House and James Handy (Director Devlin) in Castle. SO DOUBLE YAY.

House 7x03: Unwritten

Let's split this into parts again because it seems more organized that way.

Case and POTW

-Amy Irving aka Emily Sloane LIIIIIIIVES! She's come back from the dead after Dixon shot her and she went through cancer and remission and then cancer again. She's alive only to try and kill herself with a gun!

-Okay, I will say this, I am sad that there was not a single Alias reference in this ep. Not even the number 47. Sad panda. But for the sake of it, I will say LONG LIVE RAMBALDI. <0>

-My mom actually watched this ep with me, surprise surprise. She likes Amy Irving so when I told her that she was guest starring tonight she gave it a shot. And she liked the case so, that's a plus. By the end of the ep I told my mom that there wasn't a single bedroom scene in this ep and she was relieved lol. I bet next week there'll be a bedroom scene that my mom will walk in on and she'll totally complain hahahahaha. Just her luck.

-I love that this entire case pretty much makes fun of fans in general and Twilight and their fans. I love that Alice, the POTW, writes these Jack Cannon Boy Detective books that is actually based off of her life and her son. I love that House is obsessed and belongs to "a fansite or two." Seriously, I was LOL'ING SO HARD when he was outraged by the ending and how giddy he was to meet her. And LOL'ING even more when his team stared at House saying that those books are for teenage girls.

-Team Deacon or Team Jack. Why can't you be both? Jack's got a scar. Jack doesn't now who his dad is. Fun little details that make fun of the fans. Hee.

-Suicide. Man, Alice was hellbent on committing suicide. Wow. That's... scary. Amy Irving was awesome, I must say.

-I love how she always lied. Taub took her at her word, the idiot, and House wrote EVERYBODY LIES on his back. Nice call back to that slogan. I liked that. Poor Taub. He gets picked on almost like Loker in LTM. Except Taub doesn't have daddy issues like Loker, thank goodness. Only cheating issues.

-Okay, how AWESOME was it that Alice could read people so well like that? I love how she totally broke Cuddy down and guessed that she and House were together because she could smell the perfume? And then smell it on her assistant (or maid or whatever). I didn't like that Alice fired the maid, but I did like how she guessed House and Cuddy are together. Hee. Then she broke down Chase as divorced and having just got laid but he's never going to call that girl again and that girl was a smoker and that he stayed at her place, not his. Then she totally called Taub on his cheating. Yes. Too bad she didn't get Foreman or House for anything really. OR WILSON. OMG I WANT HER TO BREAK DOWN WILSON LIKE THAT.

-I really really liked this patient. She reminds me of that one patient from "Mirror, Mirror" that copied everyone and picked up on the dominant personality. Thank you writers for giving me a patient that I cared about. She was cunning and she wanted to die. Yes. This so is totally on the right track. I love this season already.

-I knew House was lying to Alice about her son. When he was pointing out an aneurysm, I was like WTF, HOUSE, YOU LIAR. But he had good intentions no matter how much he wants to hide behind the Jack Cannon storyline. Good man.

House/Cuddy (and Wilson/Sam)

-Let's just get straight to it. I thought we'd get more of a comparison between the two couples, but we hardly got anything.

-The go karts were hilarious. WILSON FAILS SO HARD. OMG. I WAS LOL'ING WHEN SAM KNOCKED HIM OUT. Ouch. I'm sure there's some kind of metaphor and joke for that. And some kind of insight into their relationship, but with how little we've seen of it, I won't say much.

-Then we have the epic race with Sam and Cuddy. I'm not gonna lie, I thought Cuddy's competitive streak would shine through and she'd ram Sam and then beat out House for the win. Unfortunately, she got knocked out and was kind of a sore loser. Oh well. But then we got House pull out the evil trick of yanking her fuel/power cord hahahahahaha. I love how he kissed his cane. Then he's all happy and yells, 'YES!' and tells Cuddy, 'I avenged my lady!' hahahha. House is such a kid.

-LOL at the racetrack guy yelling at them to never come back and being bored by saying, 'Ready. Set. Go away.' LOL.

-DID YOU HEAR THE DR. COCKROACH LAUGH? HUGH DID THE LAUGH. OMG. I DIED. I LOVE THAT LAUGH.

-Hee. House saying, ''Atta girl!' when Cuddy passed Sam. Seriously, they are so cute. When they both let go and just have fun, they're abso-bloody-lutely adorable. God, this whole thing was so devious. I just wish that it didn't come down to Sam and House because really, House and Cuddy are the forefront right now. Psh. We already know House has it out for Sam, it doesn't need to be about their little race.

-Did House really call Cuddy's mom? Seriously? Because apparently it seems that House makes a lot of phone calls to her mom. The desk, now this.

-Crap, this is going on for too long. Um, the flowers! I knew those flowers would be stolen, but it is adorable that he pretty much made his own bouquet for her. Hee. Pink and red flowers, House, you do know what she likes. Why doubt yourself? Oh, because you're House and you start questioning when you're happy. JUST ACCEPT IT.

-Peace penguin won out over the beaver. Hee. He used it as an apology for the fact that they broke into Alice's home for their date hahahaha. (btw, that's the night shot in the promos from a while ago!) At least Cuddy takes it in stride, comforts the maid and even asks a few questions. She doesn't make it a huge deal and she knows the penguin is stolen. Ha. Cuddy, you are awesome.

-House is trying so so hard. He's trying to make this conventional, to make it as normal as any other relationship, but by doing so, he's sabotaging it. Not only that, I see it as kind of an insult because Cuddy is special, why try to make it normal. At the same time, I can see him reasoning that because she is special, he doesn't want to screw it up so he gives her what he thinks she wants when in reality all he has to do is talk to her. House's flaw is his assumptions. They're not always right, but he believes they are, and then he over analyzes every decision like a girl and thinks too far ahead in the future. Slow down a bit, dude, and it'll be fine. You know what they say when you assume...

-I love that talk at the end where Cuddy confronts House. She's not going to break up with him over stupid differences and tastes in books, music and food. She's not that stupid. She knows you guys disagree on practically everything, but they're compatible and really that is all that matters. What they have in common doesn't matter as long as they still get along, still are happy and stay together. Besides, Cuddy had common with Lucas and look what happened to that. Uncommon works, it's theirs. ♥

-btw, that scene was the pic that Omar Epps put up a while back on Twitter. He took it from the OR floor and all we saw were Hugh and Lisa up on the OR observation deck with a bunch of cameras. Pretty cool.

-'You make me better. Hopefully, I make you better. What we have is uncommon and I've never been happier.' GUH. CUDDY. YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO SAY THE RIGHT THINGS TO HIM, DON'T YOU. YOU DID IT IN THE PREMIERE AND YOU DO IT NOW. ;ASLKDFJA;SLDKFJA;LDS I JUST WANTED HIM TO KISS HER. IT LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GOING TO, BUT THEY'RE STILL IN THE HOSPITAL. BUT STILL. HE HAD THAT LOOK.

-Okay, House, no more khakis for you, please. They look weird on you. Please stick to jeans. Also, KEEP WEARING THOSE READING GLASSES. THEY ARE SEXY AS HELL. ESPECIALLY WHEN WEARING A RED SHIRT. JUST NO MORE KHAKIS.

-Your hair was perfect again, House. Please keep it about that length for the rest of the season since I doubt you will shave your head again.

-CUDDY IN THE LIGHT BLUE DRESS WAS GORGEOUS. I LOVE HOW SHE WAS STANDING OUTSIDE OF ALICE'S ROOM AND HOUSE STOPS HIMSELF FROM GOING OFF ON ALICE WHEN HE FINDS OUT THAT SHE'S GOING TO KEEP THAT RIDICULOUS CLIFFHANGER ENDING. OMG. THAT'S THE SAME RANT I HAVE ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS. THEY ARE STUPID AND RIDICULOUS AND I DON'T FIND IT GOOD WRITING. HAVE A PROPER ENDING. IT'S A BOOK. EVEN CASTLE KNOWS HOW TO END A BOOK PROPERLY.

-And then: 'Oh, shut up.' YES. THAT IS CLASSIC HOUSE AND CUDDY. AND CUDDY'S SMILE. HEE. YOU CAN'T HIDE YOUR SOFTER SIDE ANYMORE, HOUSE. YOU TWO ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP, SHE KNOWS YOUR ROMANTIC SIDE, YOUR SOFTER SIDE. SHE KNOWS YOU CARE ABOUT PEOPLE, ABOUT PATIENTS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU DENY IT. I LOVE IT. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

-I just wish we got some hand holding. Only Sam and Wilson held hands after the go karts. :( But that's okay. We got an honest convo between House and Cuddy with the whole 'I MIGHT DUMP YOU IF YOU DON'T TALK TO ME WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OUR RELATIONSHIP' and Cuddy in a blue dress and Cuddy in casual clothes and a smile.

-Let's not forget the whole 'As your girlfriend... as your employer' and 'As your boyfriend... as your employee' deal. That was cute. 'As your girlfriend, I'm impressed. As your boss, you're a jackass.' 'As your boyfriend, I thank you. As your employee, I resent you because I need that for my case.' ROFL. Then they go right into the date for the night like it's nothing. God, I love these two.

-How funny was it that House called Sam over to work her magic with MRI's? I thought that was hilarious and then House called her a 'fannon' and they fangirled about the books. LOL. POOR WILSON.

-Anyway, back to House/Cuddy. I love that House walked into Cuddy's office and they did their own differential. Like it was the most natural thing to do. Cuddy tries to help out with the surgery and House just talks it out with her and then BAM they both figure out that she's using an alias (AND NO THAT IS NOT AN ALIAS REFERENCE. THAT WOULD BE LAME.). Such a sweet scene. Plus they continue the whole 'As your boyfriend I'm grateful. As your employee I'm disappointed at your ineffectiveness.' Hee. That was my favorite scene other than the one in the OR observation room.

-'Your boyfriend is an idiot.' HEE. DOUBLE HEE. Interesting that he said boyfriend not employee.

-Okay, I wondered why they never ran down the serials on the screws in her leg before. I would have, but then again, they assumed that Alice Tanner was her real name.

-I love House's jacket, that black one he had on after the go karts and Alice grabbed him. The same one in the beach pics. Love that jacket so much.

-Cuddy kept the penguin on her desk! And the whiteboard came back! YES.

REALLY. HOUSE AND CUDDY BELONG TOGETHER. THAT IS ALL. AND THEY'RE REALLY TACKLING THIS RELATIONSHIP IS A GOOD WAY. IT'S NOT TAKING OVER THE SHOW. THEY HAVE ISSUES. IT'S GOOD. IT'S AWESOME. AND THEY'RE MAKING FUN OF THE FANS WHILE THEY'RE AT IT. ALSDKFJALS;DFKJA;SDKF HOW IS THIS SEASON SO AWESOME? OH, THEY GOT HOUSE AND CUDDY TOGETHER AND HAVE THEM WORK AS A REAL TEAM INSTEAD OF JUST EMPLOYER/EMPLOYEE. YES.

Lie to Me 3x01: In the Red

-Okay, for a premiere, this wasn't too terribly bad. It was much much better than the finale, that's for sure. It made more sense. In fact it was written by the new showrunners, Alex Cary and David Graziano and directed by Dan Sackheim. I don't think it was nearly as strong as some of the other eps they've written (Sweet Sixteen, Secret Santa, etc.), but it wasn't as bad as the finale. Could've been a little better, but hey, LTM is back.

-Wallowski. She seemed a little better to me in this ep than in the finale. I hated her more in that ep than this one. Here she just helped out Cal and stuff. I didn't really mind her, plus she was Cal's backup in the bank. So I'm on the fence about her. I don't exactly hate her, but I don't exactly like her. I didn't like that it looked like she and Cal were going out on a date though. I mean, really? But it's supposed to bring drama and whatnot. It better be worth it.

-Torres. Omg, Torres. She just keeps kicking more and more butt doesn't she? She's pretty much embraced the fact that she's going to break lots of laws working for Cal Lightman. I love it. It's like the House's ducklings doing a regular B&E into his patient's home (when he's not taking Cuddy lol). I love that she taunts Loker because she's done listening to him complain and complain about Lightman. I'm really really enjoying Torres. I hope she gets another big ep like Delinquent. God, that was amazing (and not just because FOSTER WAS IN DANGER).

-Loker. I LOVE HIS NEW HAIRCUT. YES. I know many fans miss his shaggy curly hair, but I don't. I hated it near the end of season two. It was getting out of hand. I love this new shorter 'do. He looks older and more mature, although whether he's acting that way is anyone's guess. He's seeing a therapist, which is good, he defnitely needs that, but he's still just whining a lot. I hope he grows out of it soon.

-Foster. Oh how I love Foster. Especially in jeans. Nice to see her dress a little more casually now. I love that she's confronting Cal more now. The way she keeps cutting him off was hilarious. Oh Foster. She also got to pwn against a fellow psychologist which made me swell with pride. I couldn't stop grinning like a fool whenever she refuted the other woman's claims. Yes, Foster in her element. It's glorious.

-Lightman. WTF is up with him? He swings from hot to cold so fast. But he took on the case with good intentions, so that's good right?

-I missed Emily in this ep. :( I love her.

-REYNOLDS. OMG. THEY MENTIONED HIM. AND WALLOWSKI CALLED HIM A 'BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER' LOL YES. THAT'S FITTING. EXCEPT THAT CAL SAYS THAT HE BROKE OFF ALL TIES WITH THE FBI. YEAH, WAY TO LEAVE YOUR FRIEND LIKE THAT, BUD. BUT THEY MENTIONED HIM. SO I'M OKAY. I JUST WISH THEY GAVE HIM A BETTER OUT THAN THAT. WHAT IS UP WITH THE BLACK MEN ALWAYS GETTING LEFT IN THE HOSPITAL? FRICK.

-The Case was good. It is edgier. The camera angles, the lighting, it's definitely edgier. It's different and it's good. It fit the whole bank heist deal. I like that the bank guard's family was in danger and that's why Cal takes the case. I like that one of the robbers has a legit reason to be upset. We're seeing both sides and it's hard to see which one you want to win. THAT IS AWESOME. It's not the typical, oh, let's just snag the bad guys. But he's genuinely about people's lives and how one mistake and affect many people's lives. I loved that actually. And then the bank manager coming to apologize for his mistake three years ago and getting them out of debt, except for the fact that the guy, Miller right?, ends up going back to jail. It's a sad tale of humanity, but it rang true. The case was actually well-written, I believe.

-Lightman/Foster. OKAY. WTF IS UP WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIP NOW? Foster freezing assets to make Cal learn a lesson. Then Cal gets all serious and threatens to cut her off if she ever does that again. SERIOUSLY? I THINK WE'RE MISSING SOMETHING HERE. Was there a scene that was deleted, because he was dead serious. Foster is serious, too you know. She's trying to run a business, HIS BUSINESS, while he frolics around doing whatever the hell he wants. When she gets on his case, he ignores it or brushes it off. But then he threatens her to teach her a lesson in crossing him. What. The. Hell. For someone you practically had to beg to be your partner, you're being a complete and utter dickhead to her, Cal.

-And why does he always have to reassert the fact that his name is on the door? Is he that insecure? They all know that he's in charge. They're not going to run a coup. If they did, you would've already been ousted and Foster would be the lead. It's just annoying how Cal always has to reassert that he is in charge and his name is on the door whenever someone tries to question him. It's like pulling rank at every given opportunity and that's the best way to lose respect in someone, imo. Or maybe he just doesn't trust his team so he tries to control them by fear? I honestly do not understand his motives.

-I really don't understand that laugh Foster had at the end. That didn't seem like it was a joke. Group hug? That deserves a laugh? That doesn't mean that everything is all right now, not when he just threatened to cut her off like that. Unless that laugh was more of disbelief. Like she couldn't believe all this after the case they had. WHAT WAS THAT LAUGH?

-BETTER YET, WTF WAS THAT ENDING? THE LAST FEW MINUTES MADE ME SCRATCH MY HEAD. So the deaf girl is hired. That's nice. I hope we actually get continuity with that and I want to see some sign language! Dude, I love watching people sign. It'd be freaking awesome if Foster knew ASL and would sign with that deaf girl. a;sldkfja;ldskf I'd die.

All in all, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite ep. Good way to make a statement by the new showrunners. I just hope that it only gets better from here just like House seems to be. I'd just like to see more of the cast and I effing want Reynolds back so badly. I like him better as backup than Wallowski. She's a cop, Ben's a federal cop kind of, so wtf. Anyway, I already ranted about Reynolds. Here's to hoping the rest of the season is awesome and if it is, they get a back nine.

Yeah, I'm tired. No Castle right now. I did love the ep though, omg, I did. This entry is too long so, I'm going to cut it short. Castle will be up next. Promise.
