Sho didn’t particularly agree with Jun when his roommate tried to match him with some of his classmates. Some short, curly hair, big eyed girl, with too much lip balm. Sho couldn’t accept it and didn’t talk to Jun for a week. His reason to introduce that kind of girl was that Sho would maybe surprisingly like that kind of type. It wasn’t even funny. The other girls were smart, had nice taste in eyeglasses, and ability to understand at least 65% of Sho’s words, good enough, but no.

Mostly, Sho couldn’t even remember the faces, neither the names, nor the conversation they had. Majority of the time, he only responded them with un and yes, and a friendly smile or two. He told Jun to stop, that he didn’t have any interest to date anyone, the fact that he was busy with assignments, and that Jun didn’t owe him anything. Sho was the one who, surprisingly with a total fortuity, introduced him to his current boyfriend, Ohno Satoshi. He couldn’t believe that someone who didn’t even believe in Santa Claus, like Jun, would believe in love. Jun was trying to make Sho believe. Love and Santa Clause…neither exist, period.

Sho never felt in love and thought that -falling- the term that’s used when you’re feeling in love was stupid and illogical. It wasn’t that weird since people have always described love with some illogical words like you can’t live without the person you love (seriously, you can’t live without oxygen and food only, and Sho never tried to ask the correlation between an absence of a human with losing ability to breath, if his friends told him about their broken hearts).

So when Jun told Sho that Satoshi told him that his friend told Satoshi…

Okay…

It’s complicated…

In short, Jun was being persistent and pushy to introduce Sho with Satoshi’s friend, who was apparently a nice person, with nice personality and all. Sho was sure that he would meet a sweet girl with a pink cap and had a pair of perfect hand with nails that weren’t trimmed perfectly; very typical of Satoshi’s friends, artists. Sho had told Jun many times that it was a miracle Sho could stand around Satoshi for long time. Just because the artist was very nice, understanding, and quiet (Sho tried not to imagine how Jun’s expression was when he added lovely and squeezable in the list, squeezable won’t be his reason to be friend with Satoshi, not now, not ever). He successfully made Jun promised that this would be the last girl if this one doesn’t work again, which Sho was sure, it wouldn’t… He really thought to make a legal treaty with Jun, since he understood very well how stubborn Jun was, if he wanted to resolve something. Sho had no problem to be solved, really… He already prepared a lawyer, just in case…

Sho fastened his jacket to withstand the cold wind that touched his skin. He still couldn’t understand why he needed to meet in park, especially on a very cold day. He could never understand why Jun was being so stubborn about Sho and his love life. There were too many things he would never understand so he just left it in ‘the-doesn’t-make-any-sense-thing-at-least-not-in-my-head-area’. He got Jun’s message that Satoshi and him would have lunch before they met with Sho. He also told him the location, just in case Sho hadn’t gotten any food since morning, which was kind of true. But Sho already busied himself in a queue of a coffee stall to get a glass of warm latte. He didn’t think it was a good idea to have lunch with that couple, for the sake of courtesy and the innocence of his eyes.

He was typing a message for Jun when someone, out of nowhere, bumped into him. There were loud sounds of scattered books, water spilled, and a guy shouting loudly near his ear. Sho felt half of his jacket dampen with some warm liquid before he had time to absorb what exactly had happened to him. The same guy who shouted, was mumbling apologies to him as the mess was clearly visible. The guy spilled half of his coffee on his own books that scattered on the floor and half to Sho’s body. Perfect, he would meet someone, who as Jun said -would possibly become his partner forever- with damp clothes and coffee stains.

The guy started to wipe Sho’s clothes with the tissues he got from the shopkeeper as he kept repeating his apologies. I’m sorry, I always so careless… I’m really sorry, I will pay for the laundry! Sho felt bad in next second when clearly… the guy worried about him too much to even remember to check his belongings, or at least made sure he didn’t wet important papers. Sho started to gather the guy’s papers while the other stared at him, flabbergasted. It’s okay… was the only thing Sho able to say as now he noticed the guy’s appearance. He wear a trendy plaid jacket to cover his slender figure, his hair rested on his temple, brown, fluffy and smooth, he had full pink lips that now looked conical and pouty, while his eyes… his big-doe eyes staring at Sho dubiously.

He felt the strangest, unreasonable, and absolutely not real feeling he ever had as that moment. It felt like his heart sank some centimeters down from its real place. The guy kept mumbling about paying for the laundry as Sho tried to at least respond kindly that he was okay. All the while, he was trying to divert his gaze… anywhere… anywhere except the guy’s lips. Actually it wasn’t an easy at all while wanting to have a polite conversation without wanting to kiss your opponent. Sho almost slapped himself physically as he already slapped himself mentally, having an urge to kiss a stranger isn’t normal, Sho! Not even if he spilled his coffee to you! Sho understood perfectly, he started to make no sense.

Sho passed the papers to the guy and got a sunny smile from him…

And… A thank you…

And… A sunny smile…

He mentioned the smile twice and felt stupid. But it didn’t stop him from staring at the stranger till his back was gone around the corner of the street. A vibration from his phone woke him up. Notification of another message from Jun appeared in the screen, to inform him about his lovey dovey lunch with Satoshi, which Sho ignored. At the same time he saw a small notebook near his foot, he took it right before a customer stepped on it. Hesitatingly he opened the cover and found a familiar face smiled to him, it was the guy’s notebook, undoubtedly, and his name was Aiba Masaki…

A university student…

Almost one year younger that Sho, although they were born in the same year…

Blood type AB…

Phone number…

……………

No, Sho would never do something stalker-ish, he just needed the phone number to give the notebook back, to Aiba-san. Maybe it was an important notebook, and he didn’t feel happy at all with the fact that he would meet Aiba again, or see his smile, or drown into his eyes… no, it wasn’t that exciting. He put the notebook inside his pocket and walked outside the coffee stall, without coffee. He didn’t even remember to buy some because his mind was too preoccupied with how unimportant the fact that he would meet Aiba again was.

Sho passed the CD store, when he still debated with himself to call Aiba now or later, at night. He was startled when he noticed that the pre order of Ninomiya Kazunari’s album was open already. He reached for his phone to tell Jun he would be a bit late to make sure he got the limited edition version. He liked the singer since his debut and never failed to sing his song in bathroom, mostly… But he felt like someone slapped him on his face so damn hard when the shopkeeper said he missed the slot for limited edition version by one person some minutes ago. Probably the shopkeeper saw the disappointment all over his face as she asked Sho to leave his name and phone number, just in case someone canceled their order so Sho would get a slot. Although, Sho was positive no one would do that, nonetheless he wrote down his name… below a name… that got the last slot of the CD.

A very very VERY familiar name…

Aiba Masaki.

Damn it!

First he spilled his coffee on Sho, then he messed Sho’s mind with all imaginary stuff about a bright smile, and then just now he stole the last slot of his CD, what’s next? Made Sho fall in love with him? It was not funny anymore. He needed to meet that guy right now but first he had to call Jun, to cancel his fate meeting with his perspective person who probably can make an impossible thing like Sakurai Sho falls for someone happened.

“Got the slot?” was the first question from Jun when he picked up Sho’s call.

“No!”

“My condolences…” Jun chimed, faking his sympathy for Sho. “So? Are you coming here, like right now? We are waiting.”

“No, I need to call someone…”

“You can’t do that here?”

“No.”

Jun sighed, trying his best to keep his voice low, “Sho-san, do you really understand that Satoshi’s friend may be destined for you and you will regret for the rest of your life if you don’t try to come here and join us?”

“I have other fate, Jun!” Sho answered impatiently.

“What kind of fate?” Jun sneered at his roommate.

A fate named Aiba Masaki. If Satoshi’s friend who Jun believed could be his fate, his perfect match, and even if all Jun’s nonsense about fate was true, he would give up his perfect fate for Aiba Masaki. “I’m wet, and stressed because maybe I can’t make the coffee stains in my t-shirt gone, and feeling terrible because I didn’t get the last spot for Ninomiya’s CD, and I think I’m in love. ”

“What??”

Sho cut the line immediately before Jun could bombard him with questions. Jun’s questions could wait, but Sho’s love, no. He was dialing a new number…

“Hello?” a soft whisper greeted him after second beep.

You! Aiba Masaki, damn it! First you spilled your coffee all over me, then you smiled to me like a blinding light (okay, it’s not a good term, maybe shiny sun better? Sho wasn’t good with words, really), then you left your notebook, then you got last slot of my CD, and you made my mind couldn’t stop thinking about you, and now you just said ‘hello’ to me?! Oh wait… it was normal…
“Hi, this is Sakurai Sho…”

“Who?”

The one who fell in love with you at first sight! And I just used a real term of love… ‘fall’! Because of you!
“Coffee stall, you bumped into me…”

“Oh yeah! I’m really sorry! But how do you know my number?”

You dropped your notebook.
“You dropped your notebook.”

“Seriously? I’m really sorry! That’s so nice of you Sakurai-san, but it’s okay… no need to give it back to me, it will just trouble you!”

You must be kidding me! I want to meet you! I even gave up my fate for you!
“No, it’s not and really it’s okay… let me give the notebook back to you…”
And talk to you a bit more… and maybe we can have a lunch or two, or dinner?

“Ah, if you insist… Thanks!”

Okay, now what?
“Okay…”

“I’m in the town park, if you are free at the moment, but if not then we can meet later or tomorrow, whenever you free…”

Of course I’m free! No schedule to meet prospective fate today!
“I’ll be there in 5 minutes!”

“Okay, I will wait!” he said cheerfully as he cut the line.

Sho never ran like that, he had never been good in PE class and always got the lowest mark, but now was different. Aiba Masaki was waiting for him, and of course Aiba Masaki was MORE interesting than PE class, in all ways Sho could think of. He saw the guy standing near the footpath to enter the park, Aiba already noticed his appearance even before Sho reached. He smiled widely when Sho stopped near him, trying to catch back his breath.

“You don’t need to run…” Aiba giggled.

“I don’t want you to wait…” Sho smiled as he handed the notebook. For some seconds Sho almost sure he saw pink color flushed over Aiba’s cheeks, that for sure because the temperature was low. Awkward…

“Ummm…” Sho tried… “Aiba! Let’s go, he won’t come anyway, and it’s cold!” For some seconds Sho could not do anything, not even closed his mouth from gape. A tall guy with wavy hair walked closer to Aiba, Sho never thought that Aiba already had a boyfriend… a good looking one. Slowly Sho was getting back his sense when he noticed someone walked behind the tall guy, another guy who looked squeezable, in Jun’s taste, and when his gaze back to the tall guy,

“What are you doing here, Sho?”

“What are you doing here, Jun? ”

“We promised to meet in park remember until you called and canceled!”

Jun stared at Sho and moved his gaze to Aiba,

“What? You know each other?” Sho frowned,

“What? You know each other?”

“Well… Sho is my roommate that I told you Aiba-chan, and Aiba is Satoshi’s friend, that you supposed to meet today…”

“So… I… We…” Sho shuttered, he gave up on his fate for his fate, it sounded absurd but amazingly perfect… Aiba smiled to Sho, while the later couldn’t say anything anymore,

“Well… Then I guess the fate impatiently made us to meet when we already supposed to meet… so I can at least ruin your t-shirt, before we know each other more…” Sho laughed, yeah we can have dinner then (with stain-less t-shirt) and we can listen to the LE of Ninomiya Kazunari’s album together or maybe I can ask him to give me the bonus? We have a lot of time for that…
