They're both so friggin (seemed appropriate) hot in that movie. Most of the time it makes up for how annoying Rocco is.

I'm not sure why I hated Rocco so much. Probably because he WAS just about as bad as the guys he ended up killing. Connor and Murphy always seemed pretty blameless until they started killing, but Rocco was scummy. And Norman and Sean were PERFECTLY charismatic. Like you recognize the twins are sort of nuts, but you love them anyway. It all rests on Norman and Sean acting like brothers in real life. It was perfect casting. This movie wouldn't have worked without them.

I love that you call them "the twins." I rewatched this movie with some friends a couple months ago, and then the other night the Walking Dead came up with the same people and I mentioned Norman Reedus. They argued he was NOT a twin in Boondock Saints. Someone clearly hasn't seen the deleted scenes from the first movie. :D
(I haven't seen the second, it may be clearer there.)

I think Rocco is horrible. He's like that morally weak annoying friend that lots of guys have and their wife/girlfriend ALWAYS hates.

Digression: there used to be a REALLY crazy fangirl on the IMDB boards for Robert Patrick Flannery. I think she may have been the single creepiest fangirl I have ever come across online. I only went their about three times, but: WOW.

Even without the deleted scenes I probably would have said there was a possibility of them being twins. They move in tandem constantly. Like their walking syncs up, they drink at the same time, they have the same quirks in movement. The confusion probably comes in the fact that Murphy is an overtly gentler character, mainly because Norman looks and sounds sweeter than Sean does, in addition to the fact Murphy always tends to let Connor lead and he's a lot more emotionally volatile than Connor. And in the first movie the only brother you see overtly try to "save" the other one is Connor. But I always thought them being twins was a better explanation as to why their whole worlds seem to revolve around each other rather them just being brothers. That and when they're in the police station speaking different languages, that seems like twin secret language if I ever saw it ( ... )
