I have GOT to get more organized with this journal. I look at zombres neat and tidy posts and feel ashamed of my all over the place ness. So, trying to get my crap together here.
If Star Wars had happened on a subway. Obviously Darth Vader is a big hit any time he shows up to a party.
Have been reading Presidential Confidential, which is a fabulous, if slightly trashy, introduction to White House shenanigans. It gives the low down on all the scandals that people ask about, and as a history teacher I have to know. Very clear, very readable, and actually very fact based. Sure, some of the sources that report the scandals may not be reliable, but the book makes that pretty clear. The chapter about assassinations and attempted ones is extremely good for bare bones history. Teddy Roosevelt will never NOT be my favorite president. They don't make that kind of cool any more. Of course, since he WAS such a chill mofo, the only time he's mentioned is in the attempted assassination chapter, where he got SHOT, then continued on with his hour long speech WITH A BULLET IN HIM. I don't care that some of his policies were crap, if you can do that you just automatically win at life.
