I broke down and bought a 120GB ipod. This means I went on a downloading spree so I can carry my favorite movies with me, especially since I'm spending a week out at camp in the near future (it's novel not being a counselor where you have to stay at camp ALL the time, I realize I covet my freedom). So what did I download?
Nosferatu- I always loved this movie. It's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen and the only silent movie I've ever seen that can keep teenagers fascinated.
THIS IS CREEPY, PEOPLE!
The Adventures of Robin Hood- I first saw this movie on a flight to England. I've never been able to pass it by on TMC without watching it. I've always loved Errol Flynn and this is just a great movie. The first rule in swashbuckling IS to jump on stuff and laugh.
Bugs Bunny Vol. 1- You're never too old for Looney Tunes. Especially when it isn't until you're older that you get some of the humor. This is also the show that I credit for creating a love for classical music in me.
The Fall- This is a beautiful movie for one thing and Lee Pace is incredibly appealing for reasons I just can't put my finger on (he belongs in a different, more gentlemanly era, in my mind). He so messed up and almost ruthless at the end when he's telling the story, yet you know he's going to be all right in the end. Something about him makes you want to protect him in this movie.
Unf, Lee Pace.
Outlander- I just rented this one. I have a feeling it's going to be decent sci-fi shlock. Vikings in a sci-fi movie never bode well (*coughPathfindercough*), nor does straight to DVD, but it's got Jim Caviezel and I just can't turn him down since Count of Monte Cristo.
Quo Vadis- Bring me my tear vase! I honestly wish they'd remake this movie because I grew up thinking it and Ben-Hur rocked in a major way. I just ordered the Polish version that came out more recently and can't wait for that.
