The decision has been made to take the remains of the caravan to the capital. A night of rest and the ministrations of the cleric put everyone to full health. A couple of hours in the morning and a casting of shape wood gets the wagon working and loaded. The caravan sets out at noon with the three surviving caravaneers handling the wagons. The

Luca is in wagon #1, Burt and Zaneak in wagon #2, and Calvin in wagon #3.
Note: the above is how I have you all represented on a tactical grid, with each <> representing one empty space.
You are traveling through the drifting dunes, having tightened up slightly to maintain clear sight of everyone as you twist back and forth amid the piled sand. Rounding a corner, you come rather abruptly onto some sort of ritual. Sixty feet ahead of Oulah are a trio of Lamia (see below). Two are Armed with shortbows and covered with painted on runes and swirls in flaking crimson. The third is wearing dense chainmail barding of some dark metal. The mailed Lamia stands before a large stone bowl (About the size of a commercial wok) chanting softly, while the other two seem to be serving as guards.
Seeing you, one of the unarmored lamia unslings it bow and prepares to fire. The other takes a menacing step in your direction and hisses at you in heavily accented common, "Cursed Defilers!"
Initiative Order:
Oulah 29
Armored Lamia 23
Ana 23
Verealing 21
Alythana 17
Zaneak 17
Osilgard 12
Unarmored Lamia 9
GMNotes: Lamia are cruel and evil evil tauric creatures. They have the upper bodies of humans, and the lower bodies of lions. Oulah, you have heard stories of their terrifying speed, and Alythana you recall tales of them stupifying with merely a touch.
Also, although this may not be the appropriate encounter for this strategy, any time you encounter thinking, language-capable creatures there is a possibility for diplomacy.
Please post a round of actions for yourselves. The encounter is taking place in a valley between two large dunes. The flat ground between the rises is fourty feet wide, and the hills slope steeply up a good thirty feet before peaking. The caravan is just coming around a sharp (75 degree) corner with the first wagon right at the point of the corner.

- How are the Lamia arranged on a grid, and how many squares do the occupy (2? 4?)
- Does the dune we are coming around prevent me from seeing what's going on (and if so, I can still take a move action to get to the front, then take a standard action, correct?)

The armored lamia is straight out from oulah 60 ft, while the two others are to the right and left of the armored lamia. (Perpendicular to the line of approach)
You may indeed move, and then take a standard action.

He initiates a Charge toward the center lamia, intending to strike it and pass by (ride-by attack). (Correct me if I'm wrong that I have 100 feet of movement with a 50-mv laden warhorse on a charge)
In the event he gets to attack the armored lamia:
Longsword: 5 (roll) to hit for a total of 18 (+7 base attack, +4 str, +1 prayer, +1 magic weapon)
I won't insult you with a damage roll.
