i have 400 words left to write of an essay and im avoiding them like woah! so i figure i'd do something i never do (because im desperate) and post one of these fun little meme things. nobody tagged me or anything, but i dont care! im doing it anyway!

The Cure is amazing. I've liked them since I was about 10 because my parents were OBSESSED and so we have multiple copies of every one of their albums all over the house. This is definitely one of my favs.
Saint John, Cold War Kids
BAH! I LOVE COLD WAR KIDS. This song is my current favorite of theirs, though that status is recent. This summer it was definitely "Hospital Beds." The singer's voice is kick-ass, he goes from like a speaking voice to a falsetto and it's awesome. There really is an emphasis on the vocals over the instruments. I really know crap about music, so it's hard to explain, but the use of instruments is really...calculated...in this song. They are always used at the exact right moment and never any other time.
Sukkafish, the Grates
SO FUN. SUKKAFISH IS OFFICIALLY THE MOST FUN WORD TO SAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD. GO AHEAD. TRY IT. This song is SO FANTASTIC. Especially the fiddle (???i think it's a fiddle) the third time through the chorus.
Svefn-g-englar, Sigur Rós
First Sigur Rós I ever heard and I used to make fun of it allll the time. My friend and I downloaded it when we were OBSESSED with QAF. We downloaded every song that played while Brian and Justin fucked. This is what is playing the first time they have sex after Justin is bashed, fyi. I still have the playlist of all the song names and can describe each scene (LOVER'S SPIT- THE MOST GLORIOUS REUNION EVER ON TELEVISION). Ahem. Anyway. We used to IM eachother with lots of vowels and then sporadically go "ding!" which if you have heard this song before, that makes total sense. But at somepoint last year I managed to aquire their entire discography and I got really into them and then went back to this song and suddenly it wasn't so funny and I was all like "this is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard and now I basically listen to this song every night before I go to bed. Or when I do yoga inversions. MY TWO FAV THINGS=SLEEP/BEING UPSIDE DOWN. Ok, so this is getting pretty deep into the TMI category, so to conclude, this is now one of my favorite songs in the whole universe.

For like the first two weeks it was out I'd only ever heard snippets of it and then dumbly exclaimed to my sister "OMG, why have they been playing Daft Punk on the radio, I've heard this song like 2 times this week and it's like 5 years old!" And then my sister was all you're an idiot and I was all shame-faced. But I'm with the program now!
