*insert hyperactive squeeing here!*

This is so awesome! *so proud and happy for ya!* Now I definitely know who to hire if I ever decide to be suicidal and write a real book. :D

On that note, I'm writing a story that will be in a book/magazine. No I'm not getting paid (which makes it a non-sale and thus not pro I know), it's more a "teaching aid" than anything else (pointing out what plagiarism, copyright and so on are and how it's involved in writing), it's merely for fun despite my doing it seriously, but... the book/mag will be sold to the public and some of the people participating in it are real authors and it'll be edited by a pro editor at a real publishing house.

And I'm absolutely scared of the concept of it as much as I'm omgyay over it. XD

I would lovelovelove to edit a book of yours. And kudos on the story! Regardless of whether or not it's "professional," you will be officially published. I have some notes from my Technical Editing textbook's chapter on intellectual property you can have if you'd like?

Well, if I ever do more with the Vixen-Rogue story, or when I do up my novel for the NaNoWriMo (based in the same universe and all), we'll see? XD.

I'm nervous as all hell on the story though because it is going to be sold in a book and it is going to be in with real authors. Like you said, officially published. But I worry it won't be "good enough" or something, although I think I've progressed more in my writing over the years.

Oh yes please? I saw a journal entry done by the person doing the anthology in regards to all of this and I threw a question her way. I've gotten no reply so far so I'm thinking it was either self-explanatory or stupid. :| In any case, I'll snag it and send it to you since you might be able to answer it for me, if that's ok?

How long is your Vixen-Rogue story so far? I can edit about 2,000 words per hour, so if you email it to me, I could edit up to probably 10,000 words by the end of this weekend.

Don't worry about your story being "good enough." Trust me, I've seen horrible writing, and your writing is great. You know correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, not to mention basic elements like plot, setting, characterization, and point of view. With the editing experience I'll get this semester, I could help you with any areas you'd like to improve.

I'll email you the Technical Editing information and the reference information sometime tonight.

The story as it is - without the RP related stuff previously involved in it - is 22,311 words. Some of that is paragraph breaks so it's probably actually less, but no less than 22,000.

It's really just an outline at this point; I haven't gone back to touch it at all since you last read it, although I'm hoping to get back to it someday at least. I can still send it to you though if you like; I'd love to see how it edits out.

Knowing is half the battle, I know, but I'm still nervous, ya know? Granted, my writing isn't eye-gouging horrible, nor is it all "intellectual-flower" either (like those PBP types that have to have a thesaurus for every descriptive word they write cause plain words aren't good enough anymore? XD). Eh, we'll see anyway :D I'd love the help; anything to improve.

Thank you so, so much. Actually this might get me into working on the story for the book again since it kind'a stalled for the moment (I'm blaming the weather)

I could work that into my schedule and get it back to you sometime in August. Email to to me when you have time.

That thesaurus-obsession writing is called "purple prose," haha. Some great examples: "As soon as the Promethean spark had been fully communicated to the lady's tube" (or just "Once the lady lit her pipe"), "a nectarian beverage" (wine), and "a somnambular accommodation" (a bedroom).

Here, have some of my inspiration. I'd love to write, but I need to finish a bunch of other stuff before I can.

Will do!

I didn't know it had a name! Wow...

It's like the wold Wolf RPers. "Daintily she flowed on widened pads her plume arched high above her spine, auds perked with a jovial smile upon her maw."

... and now I need to throw up over that... god it's not even a sentence...

Eww, eww, eww!

Ahem, pardon the moment of crazy; I'm having a seriously weird/off day.

I imagine I'll work on the story over the weekend; hopefully to have it done by Monday. But I'll take your inspiration and raise you a couple of extra arms and hands to help with the work load? XD
