The Director of Business Development at College Prowler personally recommended I apply for the Contributing Editor Internship in Pittsburgh, PA!
It's a spring internship lasting 1-2 months and just the kind of professional writing/editorial experience I need!
Interns will be contributing editors and assist with updating the College Prowler guide to their school. Responsibilities include surveying fellow students in-person and through an online survey on campus-life topics at our school, assisting an internal editing team with editing and updating factual information about our school, updating short editorial reviews, and summarizing student opinions on campus life topics. It's ideal for English, journalism, and business majors (I'm an English major) with excellent writing and organizational skills. Interns will start immediately and work 5-10 hours per week. It offers a $50 stipend, resume-building experience, and letters of recommendation.
I emailed the Director first and asked if I could possibly work afternoon/evening/weekend hours since I have classes every weekday from 9 am and 4 pm. If so, I might be commuting to Pittsburgh a few evenings per week. If I can responsibly manage it this semester, I'll submit a cover letter, application, and a writing sample.
