Welp, I finished my phase 2 training at LAX yesterday. I begin my normal schedule on Sunday. I am now pretty much qualified to do pat downs, watch and operate Xray machines and check out peoples baggage. I have 60 hours of OJT (on the job training) before I get my epaulets (the shoulder rank indicators) but I ahve my actual badge now and I was sworn in as a federal officer.
Its so interesting to see where life takes us, I never ever would have expected to be on this side of the airport, working for TSA. Hopefully I can use this on my resume somehow when the job market gets better, or I transfer to Vegas, get a position in IT or something that lets me use my passion...or skills in economics. TSA is ostensibly to help me build up a way to mov out of my house and pay off all my debts. I'm aiming for summer to be 100% done with everything, with a Spring reak deadline for my debts to be erased. I keep repeating this yes? I need to stay focused no matter what comes my way, and not spend major money. I've sworn off of Fry's, Best Buy, and all those other tempting places for the time being.
The only thing that takes my money now is Round 1 and AI...and even then I an mitigate that with hour cards to max value, and hanging out with Vest and his street fighter buddies.
I'm gonna do my taxes soon, though all there's gonna be is Unemployment debt...ugh
