beautiful, of course, being vote on subjectively by the 180,000 members who are already in.
and the thing is, i don't really have a problem with it. it's kind of insulting, yeah. and it's kind of "mean girls"-ish. but so? if you want to date a jew, you go on
j date. if you want to date a "beautiful" person, you go on beautiful people.
it's judgey. but it's not unfair.
from the article:The existing users are asked to rate photographs of those wanting to join as either "Yes, definitely," "Hmm, yes OK," "Hmm no, not really" or "No definitely not" and a decision is made based on the overall finding.
i want to do a social experiment, where i submit my picture, to see if i'd be accepted -- and then write about the process and the people who are on there.
i think my ego can handle it.
