the hairdresser asked if we had any plans sunday afternoon, which we don't, so i said "we don't" and she said great because her good friend whom she was friends with in san diego, eric, is roommates with this guy named george who directed "full monty" and we're going to see it with them. comp tickets galore

This doesn't surprise me at all, because George knows everyone in the entire world. You could mention Zimbabwe, and George would be all "Oh, great country... do you know Shimmer Chinodya? We workshopped a small show in New York together. He's a fabulous man, fabulous."

That would be awesome. I'm trying to see more local shows to support my friends who are performing (and local theatre in general in this sucky economy), and all those tickets add up. I'm all about discounts and comps!

i don't actually know the guy (even though he probably knows me, judging by how he knows everyone in the world!), so i feel weird asking someone i've never met for a ticket! but if it somehow comes up and he has an extra ticket, it'll go to you!
