who are you now?
jeff and i walked to the ferry building today at lunch. went to taylor's refresher to get burgers (well, i got a california chicken sandwich) and where the cute girl behind the takeout counter made us forget to get extra ketchups.
on the way back, a girl walking toward us had the "ohmygodiknowyou!" look in her eye, and sure enough, as soon as we started passing each other, she greeted me with "dude, what the fuck!"
now i'm usually really good about recognizing and remembering faces. like, really good. it's people's names that i can't ever remember.
but this time i was screwed. my own brain failed me. i have NO idea who she is. not the slightest, faintest, foggiest clue.
i gave her a huge hug and told her i had to run because we were late (which is true). as jeff and i walked back, i told him "i have no idea who that was. not even a clue." and he said i could've fooled him, because it totally looked like i knew her, which is nice.
but man, if i can't even rely on my uncanny knack for remembering people's faces, what can i rely on?!?
