ΠΡΟΣΚΥΝΗΜΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΜΙΝΝΕΣΟΤΑ

Tomorrow I leave with Alicia for our road trip to Minnesota, which I've styled the "Pilgrimage to Minnesota" for myself. I'm really excited for it for several reasons, such as the fact that we're going to see lots of awesome stuff along the way in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming that I haven't seen before, the fact that I get to simply go cross country with Alicia, the fact that I'll get to see my family in MN, and most importantly, the fact that I get to extend my goodbye to Alicia over three or four days, a fact that gives me so much comfort as I don't think I'd deal very well with an abrupt goodbye to someone who has become such a seminal person in my life (but not in the sticky way).

Today we went to lunch with Lina at I Love Bento, which was really awesome. But my favorite part of our extended adios was last night's excursion in Seattle with Iakobi mou, Amber, Sam, and (later) Warren. We ended up drinking tinto de verano (cheap red wine mixed with either coke or fresca) back at Jacobs into the wee hours of the morning before heading back, singing along the entire way with Fiona Apple and Billie Holiday. Needless to say, I had a blast.

After lunch with Lina, I came home and began the process of finally putting my room into order. I must say that it looks pretty damn good. I still need to put up some more things on the walls, create a bed frame, and get a love seat and coffee table. After this, my room will officially be the coolest room ever.

On that note, I need to get back to putting my books on my bookshelf and packing for the trip. See you all on July 14, Bastille Day's 216th anniversary. I think that might be cause for celebration.
