So it's been a while, and here's the low down on my banal existence. On Wednesday Ambers and I went up to Seattle and made sushi with Cassie before meeting up with Warren downtown to watch an 80's dance-off, old-skool style, meaning boys vs. girls. Of course, the boys won. We went up drinking in the U District later and got trashed and started dancing around in this bar where people clearly do NOT dance. Cassie was so embarrassed (as it was her neighborhood bar) that she hid in the bathroom. On Thursday we woke up totally hung over, ate pho, and took a nap at Warren's. It was on the way home that I first suspected that my hang-over was a bit more than that.
Anyway, upon coming home, I proceeded to sleep throughout the rest of Thursday. I woke up on Friday and began to feel well enough to go to my last class, only to almost literally collapse on the street four times during my 10 block walk. Class was awful, out of necessity. I came home and watched a bunch of movies and feel asleep at 10. I woke up on Saturday, called back our prospective landlady, ate some food, watched some movies, and fell asleep at 6:30, woke up at 11:00 and reread some of "Valley of the Dolls," and fell asleep at 1:00. Today I feel much better. No more fever. No more full-body ache. No more sore throat. So today Amber and I drove around to a bunch of yard sales (so much good shit!). I bought a beer stein from Switzerland that holds an entire tall boy (I know 'cause I'm drinking out of it now), a shorty robe that's black with red stripes (soo trashy-sexy), and a set of plates that are totally cute and 70's-core.
The landlady still hasn't called back, and I'm starting to massively worry. So, Amber and I drove around, and I have a list of at least a dozen prospective residences. Also, we went to an open house at this totally cute bungalow on the south side. It's so fucking rad! The landlords are also awesome: a young couple, totally enviro-core (with front-loading washing machines, compost, and a pro-pet policy), and so funky. The rent is a bit cheaper than the other, which would make up for the location. If the first landlady doens't call back tonight, I'll call her again tomorrow and start making the phone rounds on the other properties. Tonight promises lots of work, only to be redeemed by a drunken Ambular haircut! Win!
Just hope that the rest turns out ok. I know it will because I will not be homeless in a matter of weeks. I refuse.
P.S. Wednesday night--my house--Classic Rock Dance Party--Be there or be square--come drunk or be ready to drink cheap beer
P.P.S. Kris10, can I come over and rape your Classic Rock collection for said party? Tomorrow after class?
