I missed your last transmission. What do you currently know?

I know that at least sixty persons of unknown origin are currently on a ship that is supposed to be abandoned who claim they've lived through the same events three times but have no explanation for it.

Except for the idea of it being a time anomaly of some kind. That's the best theory I've heard so far.

The problem with that is that it's just that: a theory. One that sounds like something straight out of a holo novel.

That makes it very hard to deal with, as well as believe.

I can certainly understand. I wouldn't believe it myself if I hadn't lived through it once already.

Even if I assume that to be true, there are still plenty of inherent difficulties when it comes to actually staging a rescue operation. As long as the captain has the ship's defenses at his disposal, we will be unable to board.

Why would he prevent you from boarding?

Ship's defenses include exterior shields and the docking bay lockdown mechanism. While the bay doors can be blasted open with enough force, the shields are built into the exterior of the ship. Unless someone is capable of moving outside the ship and destroy the necessary arrays, the shields will keep us from docking.

I don't know if anyone on board has those kinds of skills.

Still... every time you've come aboard, the captain ends up dead. Why would this time be any different?

In which case, you would have to manipulate the captain into doing it himself.

If you are implying that I will kill him, that's not something that I would do under any circumstances.

Does the Captain realize what you're attempting to do? Why is he blocking you from doing it?

And I have nothing else really to base this on. It could be coincidence even. I'm not saying you do kill him, or that you don't. Merely that he seems to show up dead after you arrive.

Even if we began the operation in a clandestine manner, there's nothing stopping the Crucible's sensors from detecting us before we can get close. These are not military ships, so we have no way to disguise our presence.

I'm not sure how that could be happening, unless he's doing it himself.

You're not answering my question. Why is the Captain preventing rescue operations?

I don't know why. I don't know why he started killing his own crew and threatening innocent passengers. I don't know why he sealed off the bridge. I don't know why we were forced to evacuate what should have been a safe ship, on what should have been a safe voyage.

I don't know what happened to him, but I wish I did.

[That was clearly unexpected]

So... he changed... He does seem rather... temperamental.

He's always been irascible, but never to the point where it endangered lives. Something changed in him, and if we had known what it was, we might have been able to help him somehow.
