Good evening, everybody! This is the captain speaking, though I'm sure you knew it would be me already.

[the captain, back to his usual chipper, very alive self can be seen on the bridge. the screen is actually visible, and the black hole can just barely be spotted by those with an eye for such things. in contrast to how the passengers usually see it, it's far off, a very faint, dark spot in the vista of stars]

It's nice to have the ship running smoothly again. No pesky interference from outside parties.

He's always been such a stubborn boy. Always. [his voice takes on an odd tone then, but he just waves his hand, continuing, as cheerful as ever] But enough about him!

Since all of you have been so concerned about the state of affairs on this vessel, I thought it might be time to hear you out.

[he spreads his arms wide] So go ahead. Let me know what you think.

I'm listening.

Apparently, the captain is not as ignorant of the passengers and of his wayward son as one might be lead to believe. But this is everyone's chance! The captain has offered to speak with them, so they can work something out.

...of course this is a lie. Despite his boasts, the captain won't be replying to any attempts to address him. Either he's a liar, or there's no need to respond. He can just sit back and let the complaints roll in. You see, his announcement has had a strange - very strange - effect on the ship's population at large. It's very frequent, happens to everyone, and looks exactly like this:

No, not a woman in a swimsuit, but actual, factual thought bubbles.

Now, we're not talking anything terribly complex here. The bubbles happen only with the more prominent thoughts and when they DO appear, the pictures that they show are simple. A few items or a face at best, or some crude representation of what they've currently got on their mind.

    Like this.

Now, passengers can try to dodge this phenomena by attempting to not think about anything at all in particular, but we know how that is. As soon as we try to NOT think of something, we inevitably think about it. So good luck to those who aren't what we'd called mentally disciplined! Bubbles will fade, disappear, or change when a passenger thinks of something else or stops thinking entirely, but how effective they are and how quickly the bubbles disappear and reappear is up to you! I would ask that players try to keep the images in the bubbles as simple and family-friendly as possible. Stick figures can convey a world of meaning!

Oh, and by the way? It happens when they're sleeping, too.

At this time there is absolutely no way for a character to rid themselves from the thought bubbles, besides being completely braindead. So enjoy! 8D Oh, and since it's been a while since I last mentioned it, I would like to point out that the official nonofficial chat for the rp can be found over at cruciblelounge. This is just in case anyone out there is not aware of this fact, so stop by if you'd like to talk about nothing in particular for hours on end!

If you have any questions about the above information, please ask them here!

plot; a penny for your thoughts, captain ganymede
