I remember now. I remember.
[through some unknown means, Commander Orion has made it to the bridge. the network of consoles and the wide, panoramic screen currently displaying the black hole should be very familiar to those passengers present during the first cycle.
Orion is not in the captain's chair. rather, he's behind one of the consoles, his helmet set atop it. his face can't be seen, buried in his hands. his hair is blond.]
How many times has it been? It's all so fogged...and all these hallucinations...
I couldn't save them. If only I'd known...if only I could remember in time! [his fist slams against the console, and subsequently jostles his Sphere, shutting it off.
meanwhile, on the other side of the ship,
the smudge flickers briefly, the image coming into sharp focus before fading out again. the edge of the now-blank image waver, crinkle, then start to spread, inching across the metal around them, slow at first but with increasing speed.
as it spreads, the image disappears entirely, but beneath it the wall has become old, ancient even, metal stained and cracked. when it reaches the floor the smooth surface becomes pitted and sunken, choked with dust, whole sections missing. it creeps up to the nearby holo-suite and the door collapses, crumbling with a groan, marred by long scars and blast marks. it swarms over the maintenance hub, destroying the walkways, withering the doors and panels away. it doesn't stop when it reaches the
halls, reducing them to a derelict ruin and continuing to surge forward.
when it comes to Chicago and the forest, it does even more than that. it simply wipes them away, obliterating the path to the engine room and any passengers unfortunate enough to be there when it came through. it leaves an empty black nothingness behind.
in the other direction, it is thankfully moving much more slowly, creeping gradually towards the Economy level]
Details
Well then. To get straight to business.
Any characters in the forest, Chicago, AND the engine room have been killed by this anomaly. Of course, you, the player, can decide for yourself if your character was in any of these places! Because this is the third cycle, they will reappear in their room roughly twenty-four hours from now. They can indeed remember this thing coming towards them; it's quite fast and unavoidable unless the character in question can teleport or fly (seeing as it moves along the ground and walls and over objects) to safety. If you'd like to post an entry of the event, please feel free!
As for everywhere else, whatever the anomaly passes over ends up looking a little bit like this. During the next four days it will work it's way through various levels: the Economy level will be consumed by midnight CST, the Kepler level by midnight CST on Friday, Galileo by Midnight CST on Saturday, and ALL of the Enviro-dome by midnight CST on Sunday. For handy reference, I will be putting up notifications in the OOC comm to let people know when a level is done for! And yes, this does mean that if an Economy character died today, they will reappear in a broken-down ruin of a room! Thankfully, the anomaly will stop just short of level fifteen, so I'd suggest taking refuge there for the time being!
As for people caught on this side of the anomaly, they will, thankfully, NOT die. The anomaly affects the ship and the ship's items only. The passengers (as well as their personal items brought from their own world) are, for the most part, immune to it's effects. There is only one thing they'll notice during the event: all passengers can no longer sleep. It won't matter how tired they are, how hard someone hit them in the head with something, or whatever spells/drugs/hypnotism they use, they will still be incapable of sleeping. The affects of sleep deprivation can be reviewed here so I suggest that all players brush up on them! And remember that this lack of sleep won't be noticed for a day or two. ;D
In a small mercy, the burns on passenger's hands should be healing a little bit better now, though their barcodes are still gone for the time being. This is definitely a time for passengers to be working together.
And last but not least, no matter where the captain's body was at the time of this event, with this announcement it will go through a rapid decomposition (somewhat like this) and disappear completely afterward.
That is all for once (yay I finally managed to make one kind of short! I am quite proud of myself indeed), so if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here!
