[at the very least, Chicago has not disappeared.
but it is still, silent as a photograph. from the moment that the much talked-about
door was opened, everything has become frozen in time. Chicago is colored in black and white and gray, silent as the grave.
the only color is the passengers themselves and, of course, the doors. one door leads to the ship.
the other leads to an elevator that is, sadly, currently in need of maintenance.
in layman's terms, that would mean it is a dead end.]

The door has been found! ...for all the good it does passengers. The fact that there's no further to go means that we shall be taking a small break in the plot! This should only last about four or five days, so character's should enjoy what little time they have! Chicago is still there, but remains trapped in the state described above: entirely black and white, with everything frozen in place. Characters may still come and go as they please, but they will no longer receive clothing suited to the period! Anyone who was inside the city at the time will have their normal clothes restored to them as of this announcement. When it comes to items from Chicago itself, if characters try to walk out with them, they will disappear the moment they are taken onto the ship!
As for the elevator, no amount of tinkering is going to fix it! And the helmet? Sure, characters may take it if they wish! But let your fellow players know you have it; this post is a good place to say who has it/wants it! It's a standard-issue affair, save for it's coloring.
But I'm sure all of you would like to know why the answer to the riddle was what it was. Well, there were two possibilities! Admittedly, the brothel, aka something girl-related, option was secondary to the main one, a possibility that I added simply for the fun of it and required taking into account some of the crack posts that we've done, or how the captain treated women back when he still talked to passengers. He's very much the smooth operator, full of himself, and with an appreciation for the ladies. So! I would've taken a brothel, a girl's restroom, a girl's dressing room, and things of that nature, as a solution!
As for the primary one, Fuuma almost had it in this post and Axel was starting on the right track in this thread. A monument! Why? Well, we've established that the captain has a huge ego, thinks of himself as better than all the rest of the passengers and, according to the profile info of this very community, he's four-times decorated! What better dream could so selfish a man have but to have a monument dedicated to himself? But in that scenario, why didn't Fuuma's post work? Unfortunately, because the Lincoln Park memorial was outside, it had no doors! Whatever the monument, it had to have been within a building of some kind. It didn't matter which one; any type of monument would have worked!
But now that it has been found and there is no where else to go, the passengers must simply be content with our all-time favorite thing to do: wait. If anyone would still like to play out events in pre-frozen Chicago, backtagging is always a good option.
Which gives me time to do a little official business! That's right, it's ACTIVITY CHECK time again! This time, however, I'm going to be doing things a little differently. Since we're getting close to our third cycle and the closure of apps, I'm going to be streamlining this process a bit.
All you need to do for the activity check is post to this entry with your characters' journals, expressing your intent to stay in the game.
Anyone who does not check in shall be removed from the game's listings. Players have until Saturday to check in!
