Oliver spotted the Doctor as he got near the edge of the field. "Hey!" he shouted, running the rest of the way and flopping down eagerly beside him with a contented sigh. "How nice is this day, Doctor? I think this is the best day we've had since we got on that ship!" he declared, staring up at the sky happily.

"Very, very nice indeed!" he answered, keeping his eyes closed still. "I haven't this nice of day in a while... Well, no, that's not entirely true. Meeting you again, seeing my TARDIS in her beautiful form and going on an adventure with her was the best too. Loads of 'bests' in a while!"

"Yeah, how was your adventure with the TARDIS? Find anything good?" Oliver asked, turning to the Doctor curiously. Then, more seriously, he added, "And she really enjoyed it, right? I mean, really. Because she hasn't seemed to enjoy anything on this ship so far."

He thought about everything else the Doctor had said and realized it was a little surprisingly. "Meeting me again was a good thing?" he asked. "I mean, if I were you, I don't know what I'd think of somebody from that far in the past showing up again. It'd be...I don't know, annoying or sad or something."

He turned his head, an eye peeking open, and just grinned at Oliver. "She did."

After a moment, he shifted over onto his side, propping his head up, and gave his friend a curious, innocent look when he's done speaking. "How could it not be? I would give anything to see my old friends and companions again. Do occasionally too. Like to check up on them. Sometimes from afar, but generally I do always like to see them, no matter how sad it is for me."

Oliver grinned back. "Great! She needed that. She's been way too sad."

He considered that, frowning thoughtfully. "Is that how you knew when that monster came back for me? Were you watching?"
