Holiday!
Well, that's my flights booked for a week away this year. Neimah and I are going to head to the Black Forest in Germany for a week in the middle of August. Yeah! I've only been into Germany on day trips when we stayed with my aunt and uncle in Luxembourg, so I'm really excited about getting to go back for longer. We're flying into Frankfurt because it ended up being much cheaper to do that, then hiring a wee car (probably a VW Fox, it's the cheapest and has much lower emissions, plus it's what I drive here anyway) then heading down the A5 to Buggingen. After a day in Frankfurt of course. :) I think driving on the right will be ok, but I'll have to spend some time in the car park getting used to using the gears with my right hand. I don't want to reach for the door by mistake when I'm coming to a roundabout, lol.
Mareike has been giving me suggestions for stuff to eat while we're away (flammuchen sounds interesting and apparently I have to try zwiebelkuchen, which seems to be a sort of onion cake), and places to visit. Kirstin at work is from near there too so she's going to give me some ideas of nice day trips and things before we go.
