Wow, I actually had a nice birthday for once. Yeah! I managed to get the weekend off work for a start (although I did have to basically say that they could schedule me to work if they liked but that I wouldn't be in either way - they chose wisely), and had a nice night out in Edinburgh on the Saturday. We went to the Jam House which started with a cheesy eighties night, then moved onto modern stuff. I got three requests played, Don't Stop Me Now (Queen), Dancing Queen (Abba) and Hips Don't Lie (Shakira), and enjoyed several rather nice G&Ts.
I got some lovely Weiss Kreuz porn off Ellen and the first two Bloodraven graphic novels from
davechicken, a funky turning planetarium light thing from Tracey and a lovely laptop bag off my twin brother. My poor parents share our birthday as their anniversary, so we got them theater tokens and are sending them off for a weekend (probably to London) so they can use them.
The DVD from the belly dancing Hafla arrived this morning. It's a good laugh for our lot - we look sooo uncoordinated, lol. Lots of the solos look very professional though. I never realised my vertical figure 8 was quite so bad... need to work on that I think. :)
I may be a bit incognito for the next fortnight, the guy who usually gives me a lift to work if off for his holidays so I'm staying at a mates house so I can get in, and she lacks internet access. :( I might be able to nip on to check stuff after work for a wee bit most nights though.
