When we got home last night, I called out for my cat. Normally, he's on the stairs, waiting for me, yelling at me for being gone so long. This time, he didn't answer.
I ran upstairs and he was in his room, and he cried at me. He couldn't walk very well, and the room had a smell that, to my super sensitive nose, indicates a bladder infection. There was nothing that could have been done last night, and the vet's opened at 7:30 this morning so I waited until they were open and brought him in.
As the vet was checking him over, she felt his bladder was too big - and then it ruptured. They prepped him for surgery, did some lab work, and went to put him under to begin working - and as soon as the anesthetic hit, he was pretty much gone. They had three doctors working to try and save him, but nothing could be done.
So.... that's that, I suppose. :\
