My Old Man
Reo seems to keep getting slower and slower these days. The weather can't be very easy on him - he does have arthritis in his back legs - but in general he's just been getting slower overall. It makes me pretty sad. :(
He groans every time he lays down - not a painful groan, just a little bit of a grunt. He'll make funky grunts when he stretches, too. He spends most of his day sleeping on the couch, not sparing any energy except when he has to.
I love my little ol' man, and the four years we've had him have not been nearly enough. I'm so glad we have been able to give him a good home, though, and happy that he loves his home.
I'll keep hugging him every day until his last, which I'm afraid is not too far away. Although animals always do seem to amaze me; when you think they're close to the end, they always manage to muster some more energy to make it through another day, week, or month. I'm just so happy to have been blessed with such a great dog. :)
