Holidays & Busyness

Yesterday was a fantastic Christmas party out at walkertxkitty's home, a beautiful place as always, very warm and welcoming home. Excellent food was had by all, and we had a great time.

Then this afternoon my hubby and I went over to our neighbor's house for the afternoon to spend some time and have lunch together with her, her son, and her brother. They're great folks and good to get to know them. She makes some fantastic Asian food! She noticed a strange animal at the back of our pond, and upon closer observation it turned out to be an otter. Crazy! I never knew we had a wild otter. :)

Yesterday was full of running the usual errands. Thanks to my sister-in-law being into couponing, I've been mindful of sales & coupons lately too; we basically had a great deal yesterday at Publix that boiled down to $2 for $7 worth of Christmas cards, a free bag of dog food (donated to my neighbor, who is fostering a dog & trying to get him to gain weight), and a $50 gas card for $30. Nice!!

This morning Joe and I spent together downtown. A tasty breakfast at our favorite local place in the historic district, then we toured the new Pirate Museum that just opened downtown. It was awesome!! They had Disney help design part of it, and the whole thing is just really detailed. It's a good, authentic look at REAL pirates, with a final room giving a nod to the theatrical pirates, including memorabilia from Hook, Goonies, and Treasure Island and of course Pirates of the Caribbean.

This evening I have been just trying to relax a bit. Not feeling so great, I think it's all the holiday stress coming to a head. I have been working a LOT lately, on many things; I have to throw together a little Captain Feathersword costume for my nephew before I mail out their Christmas presents tomorrow. Sewing a vest and making a feather sword out of faux fur for him. I also have to wrap everything; I was going to do that this evening but once I got home I effectively became a slug and so I am not moving for now. :P

Finally I am going to leave you with a beautiful worship song that is sang by one of the members of my church's worship team. She has an amazing voice! Enjoy. :)
