Couple of things

First of, a huge big CONGRATULATIONS to dark_prime and his mate on the birth of their baby girl this morning!! She's ADORABLE, thanks so much for sharing her photo with me this morning, it picked me up! You two must be so proud. :)

Last night was probably one of the more miserable nights I've had in a while. Uh, or maybe since I got food poisoning the other week, heh. :P I've been crunching, trying to get a costume partially-done in time for Halloween delivery, and having been through the wringer (sick last week, and then some unforeseen circumstances getting in the way yesterday afternoon) I finally threw in the towel at 7:30 this morning. I worked on that sucker all week, and then yesterday from 10am until 7:30am this morning with my only breaks for potty breaks for me or the dog, and eating lunch & dinner, or refilling my water.

I worked like crazy on that sucker. But when it got to 6am and it took me the better part of an hour to sew in a couple of little spots on the neck, I knew I was finished. I just couldn't complete the project. I broke down when Joe came downstairs to get ready for work, just so tired. I have "a little" more to do but it's enough that it simply can't be ready in time for Halloween. I feel like a huge failure, but at the same time I don't want to compromise the quality of a costume just to get it out the door faster. It's coming along beautifully but I noticed myself not having very good accuracy with some things last night (including the hot glue gun with which I burned myself good again, UGH!) and so I just had to stop. It was heartbreaking, but I had to do it.

So, lessons are being learned for next year, to allow even more time for things like picking up CON CRUD at the peak of my season. I'm looking forward to finishing up this full suit (she'll be fully completed within a week from now, delivered within about two weeks) and then the one I have for Kenai coming up too. My hubby has been amazingly above & beyond supportive of me, down to helping me cut out fur patterns last night in order to get as much done as possible. I have enjoyed watching improvements with each costume and you guys are really going to love Kiera when she's been finished up. :)

Now to going back to snoozing a little bit. I found out the hard way that my body treats staying up all night the same as it treats food poisoning: I wasn't able to go to sleep, my muscles wouldn't relax and my stomach was incredibly upset. I've snagged maybe a total of 45 minutes worth of sleep scattered here and there, most of my rest coming from a hot bath as the only way to get my muscles to calm down. Then there's this amaaaaazing couch that sags in the middle and lets me doze more easily. I will be here all day. D:
