Browsing the freebees there is pretty fun sometimes. :3
I actually went there with a purpose... looking for surfboards to get an idea for how much people are asking. Eh, they're still about $200 for the average used board.
We watched some surfers at the pier today and I must say I really want to try surfing, still. I am getting the hang of body boarding and probably once I get into shape from body boarding (that is to say, my muscles get used to it) then I can try surfing.
I was a total dork today and looked up some YouTube videos on bodyboarding and it's amazing what some people can do!! I'm lucky if I can catch a wave and ride it in to shore, LOL. I found one that was a whole "how-to" and explained how to catch and ride a wave with a body board... like, the "real way" not just flopping about in the water. I can't wait for it to warm up a little more so I can try it out. The surfers looked like they were having so much fun and I really wanted to get out in the water and play too.
Well anyway there is a place out on the beach (down the road from my work) where they rent boards so maybe if my body is happy with bodyboarding later this summer, Joe and I could rent some surf boards and try it out. :)
