My first day off in a while, woo hoo!! :P
I thoroughly enjoyed today. Started out with leftover pancakes from our breakfast at IHOP yesterday, and we went to church. Church was great as usual. And our Bible study after the service was fun too, we have a tendency to wander in conversation but that's part of what makes it enjoyable. :)
After church we met up with
painteddog and
jooshie at the Alligator Farm and buzzed around there, then went to Pizza Garden for lunch. They were out of their thick crust (hey, it's Bike Week, and apparently the bikers want their thick crust! hah) but that was a good excuse to try their calzones. Joe and I split one, and it was gooood. :)
Then we went down to the Matanzas inlet and poked around in the water. Joe brought a net and we caught things. Everything from a little worm of some sort, to a stupid clam that wouldn't bury itself after we caught it, to tons of hermit crabs and little sand crabs, and even a small fish of some kind. I won the "biggest catch" by capturing a spiny spider crab, and Josh took pictures of it. That thing looked gross!! But it was cool. I actually picked it up, Brenda you would be proud. :) But it had smallish claws so I wasn't too scared. Hah!
We came back home and Angyl and Josh got to meet Kip; he's still nervous around new people. But I think he smelled their cats on them so he didn't mind so much. He was skittish at first but then just hid around the couch/stairs and watched them.
So now I feel like I need a day to rest from my day of rest. XD It was good to get out and see the Matanzas area, I always love going down there. And the water was warm enough that we were able to walk barefoot in the waves. (We walked around the *interior* of the inlet; I'm sure the ocean itself would've been far too cold!)
I'm not ready for the week to start yet. I feel like I have so much I need to do. At least tomorrow should be quiet because I was already half-way done with the daily work that I *need* to work on; there are some small clean-ups I need to do, and I want to take the time to write some things up for the new hire. Honestly, I'm just ready to start my own personal business.
Oh! Speaking of said personal business... today they advertised for an Easter Egg Hunt at our church, in the bulliten. I asked the lady coordinating it if they'd be interested in having either Skittle or Adie (or possibly both) attending. We thought it would be cute to have the naughty fox stealing the eggs!! She loved the idea and asked that I e-mail her photos of the characters so they can figure out how to work it in. The kids love stuff like that! And Skittle was such a hit at the Halloween event, I thought it'd be nice to have her return. I know it's an unusual thing in this area to have people mascotting outside of Disney, but hey. I love entertaining the kids and plus suiting is just tons of fun. :P So you all will get to see Easter photos of Adie, or Skittle, or both!! :)
