Owwie, I ache. :( Ah well, today was fun. First we went to church, stayed for the Bible study, then afterward was a luncheon at the group leaders' new house they just finished building. (It was beautiful! Great for hosting a large group of people from church.) We were there until about 2, then had to duck out so I could stop in at work and pick up my pay. After that, we walked a little bit downtown, and I found a perfect scarf to use as a part of Skittle's costume for MFM. Joe also got a pretty little wolf pendant on a chain. :) Then, we went down to the beach. We always go down to Fort Matanzas, because it's not TOO crowded out there. On our way we stopped in one of the beach-supply stores (with all the toys/swimsuits/umbrellas and stuff) and got ourselves a couple of cheapie body boards. They were fun to float around on, and play in the waves. I feel like I got more of a workout in my legs, because of it! Of course we didn't do much more than float and bob, and roll around in the ocean because of the extra bouyancy, but it was fun. (Maybe some day I'll be able to do more than just float, heh.) After the beach, we went to get dinner at Pesky's (the awesome burrito place we like on the beach) and then stopped at Baskin Robbins for a scoop of ice cream. What a nice day it was. :)
Something funny I was going to mention from the other day. On Friday I was walking from the bank up to my store, and as I passed by the cathedral, there was a street performer with a drum. He started up a beat as one of the tour trolleys pulled up to a scheduled stop in front of the cathedral. There was someone in the front passenger seat of the trolley (which is usually where narrators-in-training sit) who started singing along with the beat: "Weeee will weeeee will rock you!" Everyone on the trolley started gettin' into it, and the guy even goes into the verse of the song. I just started cracking up, what a funny thing to see! You NEVER see fun stuff like that happening!
Well, it turns out that the guy singing was none other than
Michael Winslow, a comedian and actor who is known for doing voices, but especially known for his role in the "Police Academy" movies. He rode along for one of the round-trip tours doing narrations and voices early on that morning. What a weird thing, for me to actually have seen it! Man, that just made my morning. :)
