More Second Life stuff...

Joe and I pooled our money and topped off my allotted land holdings within the tier. We've got a fair bit of land in this particular sim, now, and plenty of objects to be able to build things.

Right now we've been working on a club of sorts. I really want to get it going and have it be interactive. We need to be able to set up a shoutcast server or something before we can do that. I don't know quite how to do that yet but we'll figure something out. It'd be fun to have "real DJs" do stuff for us on SL. Or just be able to broadcast my own silly songs sometimes. ;) (Right now we're just broadcasting DI.fm stuff) It'd be fun to hold little events. I think it'd be neat if we could somehow get interactive "art jams" too, or who knows. If anyone has suggestions for fun stuff to do, please let me know. ;)

Yesterday was spent relaxing. I didn't get to work on housework as much as I wanted to. I did get in my walk with Reo, though, first thing in the morning. We walked our loop downtown and sat on the fort wall. It was a nice day, and all the osprey were out fishing. There were actually three or four of them down there, as well as two great blue herons in the grasses. One of the osprey took a dive and just plucked a fish out of the water right in front of my eyes. I love watching the birds off the fort wall. So much to see...

Last night after I picked Joe up from work, we went to Michael's to get some things to fill our shoeboxes we're doing for Operation Christmas Child. (Beware; if you click that link, Franklin Graham will start talking to you!) Basically, it's something that many churches participate in each year: families will fill up shoe boxes with little toys, school supplies, and things that children of a certain age group might want. The shoe boxes are then delivered to children all over the world that might not otherwise be getting Christmas presents - kids in orphanages, in poor families, refugees, etc. My family would always do the shoe boxes each year - each of us three girls would get one to fill up with little things and send off.
So Joe and I found all sorts of things, and got some school/art supplies for relatively cheap. They also had a $1 bin and clearance stuff where we found some inexpensive little things to pack. We got out of there with a ton of stuff for only $30. It was fun picking things out. Now we've gotta pack it all into the shoeboxes. :P

Mmm, so now I'm heading off to get some work done around the house. At the very least I need to vacuum. My nose is feeling stuffy, I dunno why. It's kinda gross. :P
