Attention Fanime Con 2013 Higher-Ups
I originally posted this on the Fanime Con Facebook page, and one particular individual thought it was time for me to stop sounding like someone who is "off her rocker". If I'm off my rocker, then people can start calling me The Nancy Grace of The Anime Community. ;) Well... I don't know, but it kind of sounds catchy. She wants me to shut up, but her words have just encouraged me to spread the word even further, so my next online community is LiveJournal.
You know what? I need to say this, and it has to be for everyone to read. The Fanime Con website hasn't been updated since May 2012. The con is only 4 months away, there is no information in regards to pre-registration, hotel accommodations, guests of honor, live events -- nothing. What the hell is going on!? Is Fanime Con 2013 taking place or not? If it is, PLEASE update the website, otherwise some of us are gonna make alternative plans for the memorial day weekend. We attendees can't just keep putting a hold on a weekend for an event without knowing if it's for certain that the con will take place as planned. Whatever differences anyone on staff has, please put that aside for later, and if you can't, then please step aside and let someone else take the reigns.
Again, there's only four months left, some of us are traveling from either far cities and states to come to Fanime Con, and the longer you guys wait to inform us on what is going on, the more expensive it's gonna be for us to make travel arrangements to get there. In addition, lots of us are either attending school or working, and we're only allowed a specific time frame to ask our teachers, professors, and supervisors for time off.
Whatever happened to your slogan -- "By The Fans, FOR The Fans"? If you truly are FOR the fans, please give us an answer. We have a right to know whether it's good or bad.
