wall decorations

This morning Lily was babbling very loudly at the fish hanging in Ivy's room, so I picked her up and we went around to touch and talk to each fishy.

That reminded me of Ivy's first sight of the fish.

We didn't do the whole 'decorate the nursery' bit before Ivy was born. Since people were badgering us about what our theme was going to be, we finally told them the theme would be fish/aquatics just so they would drop the topic.

Anyway, a friend presented us with some wall decorations of garishly colored fish. We didn't get around to hanging them up until Ivy was about 6 or 7 months old.

When Ivy saw her room that night, she noticed that the blank walls now had STUFF on them!!! She had us go around to each fishy item many times so she could see them, touch them and try to pull them off the wall (I can only assume in order to try eating them). It was pretty cool to see that she could recognize and comment upon changes in her environment at that age.
