Chicken Love

I love chasing the chickens back into the yard - the ornery rooster stands on the fence post and crows to the hens and they "fly the coop" so to speak, one my one. I love collecting the eggs and seeing the variety of sizes and colors. They each have their own personality. I really love our chickens.

I think I would love having chickens! Also, I would like hair the color of the feathers the gal in the first picture has.

Our chickens are fun and a pain. haha. just like any animal. they get into trouble. they are always flying over the fence into our neighbors yard. haha

Ha! I hope your neighbors don't mind a feathery friend stopping by! I thought you had a sort of "ceiling" for them to protect them from the hawks?

Yes, they have a roof covering in their run, but we let them free range the back yard when we are home.

after you posted this comment, we had the chickens in the back yard and a hawk came down and tried to take one. Chris had to run outside yelling and throwing rocks at it. OH MY! The chickens were so sweet though, they all huddled around the almost stolen one and created a ring of protection.
