Character's Name: Cooro
Series: +Anima
History: Cooro comes from a world where certain people have the ability to take on animal traits. These people are known as +Anima, and are usually shunned and hated by others.
Cooro's life began off rather strangely. His mother died while she was pregnant with him, and was left out for the crows, as Cooro's hometown believed that crows took the souls of the dead to heaven. When the crows gathered around her, though, Cooro burst out with his crow +Anima. He flew after the crows, trying to follow his mother's soul. He fell, though, and landed in a church. There, he was raised under the kind care of the Sisters.
He lived quite happily there until a researcher called Fry Greena Aight came and took Cooro away to his research center, where he raised Cooro in order to study him. Fry later sent out Cooro to find other +Anima, so that he could take their powers and inject them into a +Anima girl called Bianca.
Cooro was around 10-11 years old when he found Husky, a fish +Anima. After helping him escape from the traveling circus he worked at, the two traveled over to a small village, where they met the bear +Anima called Senri, who was protecting the weed that lived there. After the gang that was terrorizing the village was chased out, Senri joined the duo.
They moved on to the city of Octopus, where they discovered an underground home full of girls. It was there where they met their last and final friend; a bat +Anima called Nana. After a brief scuffle in order to reclaim the pearls Nana stole from Husky, Nana decided that it would be better to follow them and did so.
The four became close friends during their travels. As they moved westward, they managed to uncover each others' pasts, and managed to help each other through troubled times.
Eventually, they arrive at Cooro's hometown, where they discover that artificial +Anima were being made. The group investigate, and they realize Cooro's past. After he led them to Fry's research center, they wrongly assumed that Cooro was an artificial +Anima as well. Nana accused him of faking their friendship to trick them into giving up their +Anima, and they left him.
Cooro had his +Anima removed by Fry, having promised to him years ago that he would give the researcher his wings. When he revisits his mother's grave, though, Husky and the others catch up to him, wanting to take back what they had said. Surprisingly, though, Cooro grows back his wings when he sees the crows and begins to fly after them, only to be stopped by Husky.
Happy that his place was with his friends again, Cooro moved with them to live with a friendly blacksmith, and there they stayed.
Personality: Despite having an unusual backstory, Cooro was raised in a loving, caring environment, and this is reflected in his personality. He's carefree and friendly to almost everyone he meets. You'll rarely find him saying something mean or harsh about somebody, if ever. He loves to meet new people, and will always do it with a smile and an outstretched hand. In a way, Cooro is an optimist, and his smile rarely falters.
He's incredibly childish as well, though. He has a tenancy to blurt out things that don't really help with the situation, and he has an almost fixated obsession about eating. (His favorite food being apples.) He sometimes has troubles distinguishing some moral ideas, but he has a general idea of what's right and what's wrong, and he'll stick to that through and through.
Cooro is curious about everything around him. He wants to know where this thing came from, where that thing came from, how a certain thing works, and so on and so forth. This curiosity of his, though, can cause him to overlook certain dangers.
As well as being curious, Cooro is incredibly naive. He'll believe almost anything anyone says to him, and, if they tell him to do something, he'll do it without question. He believes people straightaway, even if he's just met them. He often gets hurt this way, but he gets over it pretty easily, and is quick to forgive.
Powers and Abilities: Like mentioned before, Cooro is a crow +Anima, which allows him to sprout large black wings, enabling him to fly. Cooro also happens to have a small axe, though he usually uses that for chopping wood and other things like that. He also happens to have the ability to sense other +Anima, though that skill is practically useless in a place like Reverie Lane.
