waypoint v destination, or why I want SPN to go home instead of going big for S15

One of things I love best about SPN is its collection of ephemera, its lost motels, its gravelly roadsides, the sleeves of plaids and the shakers of salt and the throwaway lines that don't make it onto the gifs.( Read more... )

writing talk, spoilers, not a genre

That’s why I love the idea of the Six Feet Under style montage, where we fast-forward through their lives to their *eventual*, much later deaths.

Ooh! *Thinks about how that would work on SPN*

How're you? <3

"pit of despair": ah nooooo! (I admit I giggled, but there certainly is a lot of sad to be had...)

I am doing OK, mostly completely and utterly more swamped at work than I have ever been in my life. This is mostly my fault, but ouch. Going to try to write some poems, tho, for spn_napowrimo

Feeling grateful to SPN that I got to meet cool folk like you. <3

Right back atcha! And that’s one reason for the despair - I fear my LJ friends are going to drift away from the fandom when the show ends. :( (and real life tends to dig its own puts if despair, of course.)

I know, I wonder what fanspace will look like after SPN ends? If it makes you feel any better, I am still in close touch with some friends I met in other fanspaces, some quite a long time ago. But the SPN community as a whole (and especially LJ, which has been fading for awhile anyway)--yeah, it's hard to say what that will look like and what avenues of communication we'll have. I plan to stay in touch with SPN people and remain in community where I can; even though I came to SPN fandom pretty late (or: I was actually a lurker and SPN fic reader for a long time before I engaged), the people I've met and the things that SPNspace has given me conversation/inspiration-wise mean a lot.

I hope you're holding up OK. Any time you want to chat about SPN/writing/life/Sam in "The Great Escapist" (heh), hit me up here on LJ or on email (crowroad3@gmail) <3 (I'm not on tumblr or Twitter.)

I find hope in people who are still talking about/creating for Harry Potter, etc. Who knows how long this fandom can stay alive. I’m in it until the bitter end. I hope you’re there with me.

(THE GREAT ESCAPIST IS ON TNT RIGHT NOW AND IT PUSHES ALL MY BUTTONS SO HARD.
