Sigh

Have come to the conclusion that writing is a bit like photography.
Back in the day they taught us that for every 1 good photograph, you'd have to take 99 crap ones.
I'm not going to get inspired/good at writing/hot & steamy porny bits/whatever unless I get over myself and actually WRITE again.

I hate it when I have to smack some sense into

I hear you. I've been stuck in the middle of two different stories for weeks and haven't been able to move much on either one.

At least I finished a James May birthday!ficlet that I'll be posting on Thursday.

Hey, I should have said something at the time, but what you said to me on my journal about not killing the story before it's even had a chance - with your example of your story you weren't quite happy with, but which still gets hits and comments - really resonated, was excellent advice and I was/am grateful to have gotten it. I haven't posted yet because I'm still plugging away sloooooooooooowly, but I am still plugging away. I sincerely hope you do the same because the drabble you posted for the holiday advent was really lovely and I would enjoy reading more.

As someone who dabbles with the camera though, I think that your photography analogy is apt if not exact. I don't know about you, but I swear I'm discarding at least as many words as I am keeping. :)
