The final season of HBO's "Oz" arrived from Netflix yesterday. I had never seen the show before. I thought I was simply renting it to see Patti LuPone play the prison's librarian. So I thought.
OMG. I plowed through the entire season (8 episodes) in one night. Someone could have warned me.
Who would have thought that Broadway would so fantastically represent in a gritty prison drama?
Betty Buckley / Patti LuPone
Being the nerd that I am, I flipped my stuff when the "Millard Fillmore hospital in Buffalo, NY" got a shout-out. Then, I discovered today that the series' creator / writer / producer, Tom Fontana, was BORN AND RAISED IN BUFFALO. Not only is the man genius of local origin, but he's also a cousin of LuPone. GTFO. So, clearly, I'm hearting him now. (Winters brothers are all "She can out-drink him." Hahaha.)
Currently starting the commentary. Tom Fontana just spoke of Lynda La Plante & gave "Prime Suspect" a shout-out.

Please tell me I'm not the only one.
