(no subject)
Wow. I haven't posted in this thing since November. And that wasn't even a real post. I still log in here to read journals, but I haven't posted anything of substance since before the wedding. Ok, well here goes:
Nov: Maverick changed his work schedule in anticipation of starting school in the spring. This means that he now works a regular 8 hour shift, Mon-Fri 2 pm to 10 pm. I wasn't happy about this, but at least we had one day off together. Thanksgiving I went over to my cousins' house, bringing a friend (J) along since her husband was out of town for work. Her husband, C, is Maverick's best friend, and they were currently living with us while they waited for their house to close. J was also pregnant at the time.
Dec: S and I hold a surprise baby shower for J, since she doesn't have many close female friends. We time it with a UFC fight, so the guys will have something to watch. Everyone has a fantastic time, and no one really remembers watching the fights. C and J moved into an apartment, inspite of our protests that they can stay with us. The baby was due in Jan and they didn't want to put us out by having a baby in the house. Christmas is a lot of fun; we cooked our first Christmas dinner in the house, had friends over and watched Christmas movies. It was wonderful.
Jan: My days off changed at work and now I'm off Mon/Tues, which means I now have NO days off with Maverick. I am understandably unhappy about this, but we've managed to make it work somehow. Maverick's birthday was in the middle of the month, and I bought tickets for us and S to see Santana. We had a wonderful time. Last week C and J had their baby, a little boy, and we spent most of the night with them at the hospital, cooing over how cute he is. He's now one week old and still adorable.
Hopefully I won't let 3 more months go by before another update.
