When the dust finally settles he begins to look around to see what had happened. Floating above his head was a gigantic metal sphere. He suddenly realizes that his companion, the entity that had led him out into this forsaken place, was gone. Giving up on the search for the humanoid dog, he now turns his glowing eyes towards the floating sphere. The rays of the sun beam down on its smooth surface and nearly blind him. Before he can even begin to gather his thoughts to form his first question, a tiny beep turns into a deafening ear piercing shriek of grinding metal. As soon as the noise stops a robotic woman stands in front of him. She is made completely of metal and wire, in fact, her hair is still attached to the floating sphere like hundreds of umbilical cords.
"...I...AM...M E C C A..." she says in a completely robotic, synthesized voice. Cold and detached, yet somewhat soothing and tranquil. Just as he is about to introduce himself, one of the many hair tendrils detaches from the sphere and pierces through his skull and into his brain...
silence...
darkness...
coldness...
peace...
death...
