Kansas Minister Urges Banning Wizard of Oz Books
KANSAS CITY - An 80-year-old Baptist minister has petitioned the school board to ban Wizard of Oz books, saying they "promote the worship of Satan". Horribly-out-of-touch Paster Ebediah Upchurch, apparently unaware of the popular of the Harry Potter franchise, has called for circling the wagons against the beloved L. Frank Baum children's books.
"As it turns out, we'd already banned the Oz series because we suspected munchkins might somehow illustrate theories of evolution," commented Kansas City school board chairman Steve Abrams.
